I went to the movies last nite- Dark Shadows- ehhh,,, but what sucked worse than the movies was that even though I had plenty of room in the seat, my friggin tailbone was killin' me after about 15 minutes and I had to keep shifting around to get comfortable until I finally fell asleep.

Hi Dan.

Of all the wonderful benefits of WLS...I agree one downfall is losing my a**! I never really had too big of one, it was mostly in the front and on the sides, but since surgery sitting can literally be a pain in the a**!!

Have a great week!!

Bill

Hi Guys:
I am stuck for the third week at the same weight. Now admittedly this was a rather crazy week. Started off with working one of my longest sifts in a long time. I was on the lighting crew for the David Foster Foundation Charity Concert and we started our shift at 5pm and ended at 6:30am. It was a small rig - only three semi trailers but they were all full of very heavy equipment. Lots of lifting pushing and pulling. It was more work than my work out.
Monday was our 35th wedding anniversary. My wife and I went out to a classy little restaurant and had a great time. We shared and appetizer (escargot) and an entre (Steak and Lobster) She had most of the steak and I had most of the lobster. I don't eat beef all that well. If you want to see the whole meal review I did a write up on tripadvisor http://www.tripadvisor.ca/ShowUserReviews-g154945-d710496-r130890734-Victoria_Harbour_House_Restaurant-Victoria_Vancouver_Island_British_Columbia.html#REVIEWS

Good walks throughout the week and on Thursday we had our company golf tourney. As Mark Twain once said "Golf is a good walk spoiled." I actually had a really good time. One of my foursome was a guy who was about my pre-surgery size. So it was interesting talking about the changes wls gave me. On the downside, since a corporate vendor was buying I had my first beer since surgery. It was pretty good but frankly I think I like water better now.

On Friday Marla and I went out to a Thai Noodle house. I eat the meat pieces mostly and Marla has the noodles. But this time I dumped something aweful. Within 20 minutes of eating I could not keep away. I felt dangerous driving home. Good thing we live close by.

Finally Saturday we had to do some house repair that involved crawling around under the house. It is only a 3ft high space that goes down to about 18" so going under was always an issue for me. Not this time. Ta Da!

Have a great week guys. Hopefully next week I will start losing again. I am amazed that I can stay the same weight and yet go down a pants size. I have gone from size 48 to size 36. Yahoo.

Happy 35th Anniversary Blake.  Good Stuff!  That dinner sounded out of this world!!

Sorry about the whole dumping thing.  I tried a small peanut butter sundae the other night and had a similar experience.  Really doesn't make it worth it which is a good thing because if I didn't get sick I know I would be craving it more.  Not now!!!

I love hearing about folks doing chores that were near impossible to do in their previous lives.  Would you have ever imagined that you'd enjoy crawling around under your house effortlessly?  Way to go!!

Don't worry about the stall as I've been through more than I can count and as long as I get back to basics they always seem to take that next step down!!

I guess I'm in a stall.  Haven't moved in I almost 2 weeks but that's okay because I know that is normal.  I know this because of being on the losers bench and learning from you guys.

I've started working out this week and the family is going to the local "Y" together several times a week now.  Joel (my 15 yr old) and I work out on the machines.  Jack (my 10 yr old) and I play basketball and swim together.  My wife is walking and going to start the machines soon...She says??

I really hope they stay motivated because it is much easier to go when we do it as a family, not to mention more fun!!

Looking forward to the scales moving again soon!!

Oh yeah, don't worry Todd as long as you keep moving and eating properly you have nowhere to go but down.  Yes, these stalls happen and it is totally normal and part of how your body keeps adjusting to new lower weights.   Stay strong and that scale will start moving again soon!

Small changes up or down are not uncommon when you're a new guy;  just keep up the good work.

Hi Mike,

As usual, excellent post. This journey is so important to all of us. The fact that you take ACCOUNTABILITY when you have some troubles is what it is all about. I am confident you will get back to working out and you will continue to be successful.

Best of Luck in the Playoffs. Sure your team will do great, especially with such a  great coach!

Yours in WLS,
Bill
