Eyes wide open Help needed Men of the Board
I think my eyes have finally opened. Last night I found two really great deals of fitness equipment. I went to my local sporting goods store and looked around at some home gym equipment and tried a few things out. Years prior to GBS I had power lifted so I was in some form of the word a “athlete" I knew what most of the equipment did so I was pretty good there. After some sticker shock of what that equipment costs it seems as a whole in this country it is cheaper to be fat then healthy. I looked on my local Craiglist and found a wavemaster heavy bag and a Weider Pro 9940 all for 114.00 I picked up both pieces and brought them home and put them together. Last night was the first true work out time since GBS it kicked my ass. I did about 45 minutes weight training and a hour of bag work. Today I am sore. But it felt good! I got the endorphin rush from exercise and some of the best sleep I have had in years. Prior to picking up the equipment I went and looked at prices for food and supplements at three local health food type groceries. Again it is cheaper to eat processed crap then healthy food. I think I will be readjusting my budget here soon in a effort to push into my total goal weight in the next few months. Men I ask you here to keep me in check and honest to the course.

I thought last year was expensive with gym memberships and stuff, but this year takes the cake! Gearing up for Half IM Augusta ended up costing more than the co-pay for my surgery, and I still have to buy a wetsuit.
Enjoy your fitness regime and it will take you far in your success. You may want to look at the exercise and fitness forum. We maintain a daily workout thread to keep people motivated, inspired and accountable! Some guys from here post on it occasionally and some of us are almost daily. Don't let the miles or the workouts there intimidate you as we view everyones workout as being the same. On there we cheer people walking a 5K as much as we do someone finishing an Ironman.
