429: All time high 12/1/10
380: Lap VSG Surgery day 8/30/11
238.6:  Last Week 5/13/12
3.2:  LBS LOST LAST WEEK
235.4:  This Week 5/20/12
3.2 LBS LOST THIS WEEK
144.6 Lbs Lost since surgery
193.6 Total Weight Lost

I am happy with my 3.2 loss this week.  However, that is not the reason I smile this week.  I have the following FARTs that make me happy this week:

1.  Down from 4X to XL shirts - yep, buying XL's now!
2.  Down from 56 pants, to... drumroll please...  38!!!!  WTF!!!!
3.  Started the C25K program this week.  Was able to do the week 1 workout without any big issues at all.  Wasn't easy, but I was able to do it.
4.  I am getting more and more of the "aren't you done losing, you don't want to lose too much" comments.  I love these.  That means I am getting close to goal.

What a week!!!  I am so friggin happy!  Thanks for all of the help, advice, and inspiration fellas.  Life is great!

Gents you are all doing so good and Brian - Great Suit. I am enjoying buy new clothes but also trying to keep a brake on things because I appear to go down a full size of pants every three weeks. That is such a change because bluejeans used to last me years. I have gone from a size 46 pant down to a 38 and it looks like soon I will be into 36s.
I had my seven month 'surgiversary' yesterday. I am extremely thankful for the changes in my life. My wife has finally gotten used to going out with me for lunches and me eating four bites of anything and saying "I'm done." Then I sit back and watch her finish and enjoy her meal. She used to feel like she was eating in front of a starving Ethiopian but now deals with it better.
My only downside is that ever since I ran the 10K at the end of April, my blood pressures have been rising. I am now in the High BP class 150/95 quite often. It kind of sucks. However one interesting thing came out of it. I was told by my GP that I needed to go on new meds and may have to see a specialist. So because my Gastric Surgeon wants to know all my medical stuff now I told him about the changes and the new meds. He insisted I see a specialist. If my GP made the appointment I would get into see a cardiologist in about 8 to 10 weeks (Canadian Health Care lineups) but because it came from my surgeon I am in to see the heart doc in 10 days. Sometimes it is who you know.
I think a lot of the BP problem comes from losing weight so fast but we will get it checked out.
I have the week off, mostly, so I am having a "staycation". I am hoping to paint the house. For the first time in years I feel safe going up the ladder - at 238 I am under the safety limit of the thing.
Have a great week guys. Thanks for having this forum.

Good morning!

Last week: 320
This week: 318.2

Tomorrow will be 2 weeks post-op and last week was only 2 pounds. From what I've seen I should expect some plateaus, but I was curious if I could hit one so soon?

Man this is one smelly board this week!! Lot's of good reports and inspirations! My are the avatars a changing!!
I lost I think 5lbs this week making it a total of 40 since surgery day. I've been staying away from the scale so I wasn't sure how much since the last weighin. Things are good and haven't had anymore issues since earlier this week when I had the foamies and puked for the first time since surgery.
Everyone have a great week!

Good Evening All,

Lot of great posts this week, they are always interesting and often inspiring!
As for me here it it....

The Numbers:

346: All time high 7/1/10 - BMI = 52
326: Tufts Medical Center, Surgery 12/27/10 BMI=49
197: Last Week 5/13/12
196: This Week 5/20/12 --> 1 Pound Loss this week - BMI = 29
151: Total Weight Loss

Well the roller coaster of this journey continues. Down 1 fromlast week. Still, I have now decided that as long as I stay below 200, that is good as I was at about 350 at my highest!

Exercise went well this week. Got in 3 runs of various lengths from 30-45 minutes each. I have also registered for my 3rd 5K!!!!!!  Also doing some weight strengthening as well.

Again, great posts today, enjoyed everyone sharing their experience, strength, and hope on this jourey!

 355  8/1/11  Start of program
323  9/21/11 Surgery Day (RNY)

216.8  Last Week
214.6  This morning!!

So that is -2.2 for the week which is pretty good for me!  I seem to be on a cycle of little to nothing for a week or more and then a couple pounds drop off.  Since I am used to that, it does not scare me, I weight daily and see it even go up, but again that keeps me mentally in check.

Workouts for last week, Running on Monday, Krav Maga Tuesday, then nothing except a bit of walking until Saturday.

Was at Myrtle Beach for BIKE WEEK, took the Harley down, was really wild being able to look at the normal clothing racks.  (Size L or 36 pants now and XL shirts)

Kept seeing things that I would not bother to even try before (parasailing, Helocopter rides, etc) and thinking...I could do that....

We took my nephew to the "Upside down house" (big science exhibit thing at Broadway at the Beach), there was a 360 ride that had a weight limit of 250 pounds....NO PROBLEM!!

You actually pedal this sucker / and if you pedal enough you go all the way over, a full 360.  Think those Pirate ship rides, except you do a full flip!

I actually did it, I managed to do the full 360 3 times!!  All these little skinny folks that could not do it, or just once.....OH YEAH

My final FART for the weekend... picked up a set of Vibram Five Finger shoes for running and talking 5k with the sales clerk.  When we were FIRST looking at the shoes his comment... "You are obviously in good shape...."   HOOYAH!!!!!

:)

Sam,
I've been running and working out in the Vibrams all winter-did my first 5K in them- LOVE them! I even have a couple of pairs for casual wear with leather uppers -expect to get lots of looks and comments- they will work your upper calf hard at first until you're used to them.  Now that you're fitted check out e-Bay for additional pairs- lots of peeps buy them before trying them on and there are usually a bunch on there cheap and hardly used. Just sayin...

Howdy amigos!

Vacation was fun but today reality comes back to take a big bite out of my deflated ass.  Back to work this afternoon.

Looks everyone has done well and I'm smelling some respectable flatulence.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
