Highest: 407 lb
Surgery: 5-17-10
Last week: 188.4 lb
This week: 186.6 lb
Fluctuation this week: -1.8 lb
Total loss: 220.4 lb

I'm coming up to my two year surgiversary this week. Hard to believe. I had my annual follow up with both my surgeon and PCP this week since I'm headed out of town this week to visit my son in Virginia Beach. Overall, the docs agree that my health is good. My iron is increasing which is good news after the New Year's hospitalization. I need to decrease my dosage of vitamin D, but beyond that what seems like a crazy number of supplements seems to be working well to keep levels in check. I'll be posting the requisite two year anniversary post probably Monday since I'll be MIA until the following Tuesday.

Have a great week, guys.

Good Morning Gentlemen,

First, Michael I'm grinning just thinking about your dancing and am proud you were out there.

Brian, all I can say is like Michael, Amen to your PSA. It's only taken me 3-4 times ( so far ) to lean that lesson. Don't forget Papaya enzymes really help. And try Biotin for the hair loss.

Blake, I think we all go through the " what the heck was I thinking " stage, but it only get better. In fact it gets great ! And can I get another Amen for what Ken said about staying on this forum. It is a God send.

Well, I just got back from a 2 week vacation. I was unable to do any exercise and I ate fatty foods as well. So I am very happy to report that I'm down 2 lbs since my last weigh-in.

Have a great week everyone.

No numerical data from me.  I left the scales at home since I'm on VACATION!   I wanted to play along anyway before we get to running around again.  Post a picture later but it's a hell of a deal to wake up to see a snow capped Pike's Peak looming off in the distance from the back deck.  Much as I love Texas there ain't that kind of "hills" where I live.  Though I have seen some fire ant beds that might give it a run for its money!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

This week finds me up .2 lbs.  I was down two lbs on Wednesday, and haven't been off plan, so I am guessing it is water, or muscle since I have been working pretty hard.

Well, I am going to keep it short.  I am off to punish my .2 lbs with a nice long bike ride just as soon as I get back from "On The Run" buying some new running shoes.

Catch ya'll later!!!

My second Sunday Morning with the pros.  I'm overwelmed.  Let's do the easy part first.
Throughly enjoyed your post today Mike.  Sounds to me like you were the "Queen of the Hop"! LOL!  Don't you just love it when you embarrass your kids once in awhile?  It's called getting even.
Earl your post was really encouraging to me.  Being able to increase my lung capacity is one of the main reasons for my having the RNY.
Brian the loss of your daughter, so to speak, is devastating and I feel for you.  When she gets older she will realize what she has missed my not having you in her life.  Like my situation with my son, all we can do is hope and pray for them.  Your public message is a good one.  What you and everyone here says I hope I can follow.  I'm a gulper and sometimes an inhaler so I'm sure I will learn on my own what all you have warned about.

Now it's time for a confession.  After 9 and 2/3 days of not cheating one bit on my protein diet, I fell off my horse.  My wife's on a high protein diet and she made her, to die for, deviled eggs and no fat beef pattys for her dinner.  I missed my lunch protein drink yesterday while we were out shopping and when I smelled her cooking I couldn't resist.  I had 2 half eggs and one 3 or 4 oz patty w/bit mustard.  I felt terrible all night and she told me to get over it.  I weighed in Fri at my PT session at 319.1.  That's down from 337.1 at my only meeting with my surgeon.  Back to my diet this morning.  4 days till surgery and I'm still swinging between yes or no.  Is this common?  I read these stories about older people and wonder where I will be.

 Jim,

Thanks for the kind words re: my pride and joy, all I can do is sit back and wait, these are all the choices she made.

You are doing awesome with your preop... one slip does not mean anything in the big plan. You are making the right choice for the long run, you have a plan now stick to it!
