Down 1.4 pounds this week so I am very happy with that. Just realized that every time I go down it is a new all time low number as an adult so Woo Hoo!! I only ran once this past week with my schedule but want to get back to my three days next week. Looking to run another 5K on Father's Day and want to keep my momentum going. Ate pretty well during the week but could have been better with some snacking on chips a couple times.
I had a great week with other activities. Busy, but great! I am deeply entrenched in softball now so I was literally at the softball field every day during the past week. Phew!! I could never had done this last year and still be able to walk and move at this point in the week! My Blue Jays minor league team (8 - 10 yo) won their second game with a great defensive and offensive showing. Really fun and the girls are learning a lot and having fun. Took them all out for an ice cream after practice yesterday and they had a blast. What a great bunch of kids. I am also an assistant on the Rangers instructional team. Those are the 5-7 year olds and they are a fun bunch and are a lot of work to keep focused.
Had a funny thing happen while talking to my neighbor. He is a big guy about my height (6' 3") and doesn't look out of shape or overweight and we were talking about how he saw me run by his house one morning when he was heading out to work and was impressed that I was doing that and had run a 5K. We got to talking about how much I had lost and I mentioned my current weight. And then all of a sudden he had a look on his face and realized that he now weighs more than me at 315. It was probably the first time that I have ever been the smaller of two folks. I am used to being the biggest guy in the room! My mind still hasn't caught up to the fact that I'm not and it was just kind of funny to me!!
Also reached another goal of mine this week: To sit in plastic lawn furniture without turning it into a pile of mangled plastic! Well, was at a neighborhood fire last night and the only chair left was one of those flimsy plastic chairs. I sized it up and first imagined that I would never fit my ass in it but tried anyway. You know what, there was extra room in the chair and it held me. I didn't end up looking like a turtle flailing on my back with a pile of broken plastic under me!! Great feeling.
Anyway, off to begin another busy week. I've got a board meeting this morning and a game this afternoon, Monday, Wed, Thurs, and Saturday with another practice on Saturday! Phew!
If you don't see me on the boards that much over the next month its because I'm at the softball fields living and loving life once again but I am here in spirit!!
Hope everyone has a great week!!

Lost my post surgery gain of 6 lbs water and an additional 7lbs for a great first week. I am pain med free after the first night home and have no pain at all. I will return to work 4 half days next week and feel great, on top of the world! Had my first solid yesterday too!
Only issue i am having is getting the fluids in... I do good with the shakes: 4- 8oz shakes each containing 23g. protein, 210 cal., and low sugars, but only 20-40 oz. other liquids. Am I headed for trouble?
Keep up the good work you losers!

'Morning Gents!
Down another pound this week- slow but steady. I participated in my first 5K road race Sat. A.M. I completed in 30:20 and was 199 out of 317 at the finish line. The course was primarily through a residential area with the start and finish on the main drag in Brewster, MA. I've done that distance several times over the winter and spring but it has a different kick to it when you get a bib number and people are clapping and encouraging you along the way and especially at the finish line. Some of the members of the gym I frequent ran as well and there was a certain level of camaraderie and support that was extremely uplifting and positive. I told them that 3 miles will now be the minimum that I run and will increase my distance over the summer to push my limits. I'm totally freakin' hooked. I'ts invigorating!!
Lotta pencils to sharpen today, so I'll sign off for now.. Always lurking! Good Luck!

Good week for me focusing on controlled food choices, more water instead of other liquids, and my goal of getting back to my gym routine. I joined my gym again this week after having canceled membership a few months back. My anemia was kicking my ass and I wasn't going. But I seem back on track with the blood issues and my energy levels are back, so it's time to get going again.
It was shocking for me to get on the treadmill after having been away from the gym and realize how far I've really come. My first gym visits I was unable to get much over 1mph without incline. I'm now beginning the sessions at 3mph with an incline and moving up from there. Plus, my stamina is far better. I'm not leaving the gym feeling so worn out that I don't want to move.
Approaching my two year mark and beginning the related labs, doc visits etc. drew 20 vials of blood for labs last week and headed to surgeon, PCP and hematologist in the next 10 days. Between those appointments and my dog's appointment at the vet, I have a busy week scheduled!
Have a good week, guys.
