Hemorrhoids...and treatment...

Man oh man!!  I had the same problem and it was worse than the whole bypass ordeal.  There were a few things I did and still do, to keep things flowing smoothly.

I used "Tucks" pads for two weeks. They are just a medicated pad that you use to apply the medication that is  soaked onto them. That shrunk the roid away. I tried everything elso under the sun, but finally, the Tucks worked great.  I also started to take 3-4 Colace per day, Benefiber in my water, and increased my water intake.  I also notice that if I drink too much regular blac****d tea it has a negative effect.  This is probably due to the Colace pulling water into the intestines and the caffine being a dieretic. (spelling?).

Anyway, hope some of these help.

I have dealt with these painful buggers for years.  Sense my RNY it has been much worse.  My doctor is trying to regulate by softening the stool by taking stool softeners twice a day and adding mirilax in the evenings.  Taking the Iron has compounded the issue for me and last week was just pure misery.  I am also going a step farther and seeing a specialist to determine what other measures may or may not be possible.  This week has bee "normal" with no flare ups but my stool has been "soft"....it makes a huge difference.
