Sunday Morning Weigh In
Highest: 407 lb
Surgery: 5/17/10
Last week: 184.2 lb
This week 188.4 lb
Fluctuation this week: +4.2 lb
Total loss: 218.6 lb
An uptick this week for me, but while I am not overly concerned, I'm not all that happy either. I overdid yesterday and did not make the best choices including eating too much late in the evening after having too much wine (for me as a WLS patient, too much ... It's not like I downed two bottles of wine, but I had several glasses which lowers my inhibitions. I also find that too much to drink is a trigger to eat.
Lesson learned. I've decided it's time to get back to the gym. I've been doing alternate stuff, like bicycling, etc since my hospitalization in January. But, I think it's time to get back to something more organized.
Oh, Friday I had my labs drawn for my two year surgiversary, which is only a few weeks away. Still waiting for results. But they took 20 tubes of blood! They are doing the full gamut of tests as we did last year. My surgeon is not big on all of the labs, so I get my PCP to order everything off the ASMBS list of recommendations. I figure if those guys say it should be done, that's good advice. Hopefully we'll seem some positive results with the anemia issues. I'm taking enough iron that I have become magnetic.
Sounds like everyone has had some great FARTs this week. Keep up the good work, guys.

Hi everyone, Been on the road over the last three weeks....just got back this past week from Austin, TX. First time there and I have to say it is a great town.
I should now be home for the next couple of months except for an occasional day or two trip. That means back to an every Sunday weigh in and back to a normal gym routine.
Weight loss continues, I am averaging about a 10 pound a month loss which is a good number i my eyes, expecially given the amount of time I have spent on the road.
Everyone else seems to be doing extremlly well, looks like we have quite a few runners on here. Congrats to you all!!!!!
Hope everyone has a great week!!!

223.ish (heh!) Ok, this is about week 3 or so of me being in the 222-224ish range, I keep thinking I am about to see a new low but I am not stressing about it!!
I have 2 goals this week, the first is to back off the sugar monster that has crept in. I am not eating "much" but I have allowed myself to start munching on the occasional cookie and various other candies and I am sure that is creating a situation where ketosis is hard to get started since I keep feeding my body empty calories.
So...that is goal #1, back to the basics on my diet.
Goal #2... is a continuation, I am working out with Krav Maga on Tues/Thursdays at lunch time and on M, W, F I am working on the C25k program!!
I completed the 3rd day of week 1 on Friday after taking a week off / pulled something in the glute muscle the week before. But feeling much better, worked out last Thur/Friday and feeling good.
I am actually eyeballing potentially THREE races for June/July timeframe!!
The first is a "Mud Run" (5k) that several of my friends are doing and surprisingly I think I agreed to run it myself!!!
Next is the 4th of July 5k in my town, for YEARS we have watched the runners and always thought they were "crazy." This is right before the parade...but LAST year I watched and thought... maybe NEXT year I will run in that..... for that reason alone I am seriously considering signing up for it.
Finally, there is a 3rd race, everyone has a chip to track your official time... it is in July, and was my original goal before the Mud Run / 4th July came up.
With all that said... "in theory" I am actually doing a 5k on Saturday (4/28) with my friends, but it is a walk/run deal where none of us are actually planning on "running" it. However I am thinking I will do my Week 2 C25k workout that day for the heck of it and run some of the course!! This is a huge fundraiser deal for JDRF (diabetes foundation), so not a race as much as a "walk" for the cure kinda deal.
Wow... where is the guy that used to sit home and play video games all day on Saturday and is instead signing up like mad for "running?"
