I continue to stay within my 5 lbs maintenance range. Found it very interesting when Tim mentioned his goal was to be at his weight when he was 17 years old. My doc wanted me at 200 lbs, I wanted 190 lbs but my body decided my range would be 180-185 lbs. Ironically, that was my weight when I was 17 years old. Funny how the body seems to know the ideal weight for you.
I’ve been working on my mental funk this week and adding new activity to my life. The bike is currently getting a tune-up and I’m adding new hiking trails to my routine. The change is really helping my mental outlook.
I’m also not someone that spends a lot of time in the kitchen and haven’t owned a barbeque in years. But, some friends had us over for dinner last night and the meal included grilled vegetables. Have never had vegetables done that way and it was delicious. I especially enjoyed the grilled asparagus. I think it’s time to get a small grill and try some new (and healthy) ways of preparing food those fresh foods from the local farmers market.
Heading out to the beach today – something I wouldn’t have done before losing the weight. WLS is really opening new doors for me.
As usual good post brother! I agree not to worry about slight uptick, that is how this journey is up and down you know...
Loved seeing you at the Softball Fields. Every time I see you I am just amazed at how great you are doing. Gail and the girls beam w/ pride as you are the husband and Dad they are so proud to point to!!
Love the NSV's, although myself personally not intrigued by those carnies as their safety is at best questionable...lol..still, nice to know you can get on and off the rides so easily!
Have a great week...sure I will see you at Softball!
Best,
Bill
As for those carnies, they aren't so bad if you remember to bring your duct tape and wrap a few pieces around the support bars and seat belts!! I do have to admit they did look kind of rickety... Oh well, we survived and had fun!! See you on the fields!!
First, my apologies on the delted posts. I was having computer brainfarts...lol!

Well, steady is the word of the day for me. I have been doing pretty well w/ Hydration, usually taking in 64+oz of H20 daily. Been doing pretty well w/ eating, averaging about 1800 calories and 80g protein daily.
Exercise in particular has been going well. For the 1st time ever I COMPLETED A 5K RACE TODAY!!! It was held at UMASS Dartmouth and I did pretty well. Finished in a time of 28:40. This was good for 46th place in a Field of 90. Pretty happy for my first 5K. This is so unreal at times, for a guy who could not run for 1 minute without stopping due to exhaustion, to do a 5K is amazing. I had a blast and cannot wait to do another one SOON!!
Have a great week guys!
Best,
Bill
