NOTE: Tim was supposed to do this for me today but I couldn't help myself and had a few mins!

This Week's Stats (lbs):
506.5: All time high 9/9/9 (WW start) - BMI = 63.3
492.4: Tufts Medical Center Program Start 9/20/10
462.5: Lap RNY Surgery day 2/7/11
301.0: Last Week 4/8/12
295.6: This Week 4/15/12 --> 5.4 Pounds Lost this week - BMI = 36.9
210.9 lbs Total Weight Loss

As I sit here, the morning of my first 5K, in my Under Armour and XL Official BAA 5K Running Shirt and XL shorts I am hearing angels singing and just had to shout out from the roof tops that for the first time in over 25 YEARS I weigh under 300 pounds. As I type, tears are welling up in my eyes as someone who was once 506.5 pounds and wore a 7XL shirt, this never, ever seemed possible. Just a reminder that no matter how low things ever get and that how bad you feel about yourself that there is always a tomorrow and that yes LIFE IS GREAT!! I have been to the edge, looked down, didn't like what i saw and am back!! Wish me luck as I go to run my first 5K today with 6,000 other folks with the race ending at the Boston Marathon Finish Line on Boston Marathon Weekend. It is truly a DREAM COME TRUE!!

Thank you to everyone for all your support over the past year plus because without you all it would be a long, lonely journey and I'm not sure I could have done it without you!

Have a Wonderful Week and I will be posting later today about the race!!

Mike, I would have had to drive to your house and kick your ass if you didn't post that one this week! LOL You probably lost another couple from the gas you passed from that FART! Best of luck today, I know you'll do great.

So, flatline for me this week - expected- flirted with a pound up and down or so every other day. I still can't help stepping on the scale after my morning leak.I signed up for my first 5K run this week at the end of the month and am jogging my way down the road as much as possible in order to fini**** comfortably.

My hobby has always been the guitar, I've been lead guitar player in a few local cover bands for awhile around here. I've been involved in a new project recently and discovered that between family, work and now exercise that the latter has become more of a priority than the hobby. I just don't have the time in the day to devote to everything and I will not compromise my new found fitness regime. It's funny how your priorities can change in a relatively short period of time. With the music, it was very satisfying, but always stationary and gravitated towards late nights and alcohol consumption. The exercise routine is polar opposite, except for the satisfying part.

I got the fortunate opportunity to host 17 thirteen year old kids for my daughter's birthday party last night.Yeaahh,,,, good times, Anyone detect the sarcasm in my voice?? So now the house is chock full of cheetos, pretzels, cake, brownies, smores, assorted candy, leftover pizza, ice cream, and soda. Shall I go on?? Seven of them slept over and I'm thinking everyone gets a mixed bag to get rid of this junk. A test of willpower, for sure!

Good luck guys, lurking as usual...

That's what I figured Tim!!  It was too good of news to just sit on it.  To look down and see a 2 as the first digit of my weight literally brought tears to my eyes.  I'm sure you all know how hard the weight loss struggle is but this was something different.  This is now REAL!!  I'm glad you signed up for your 5K.  Great News and dying to hear how you did.  Keep up the good work.   I'm not going to be at the next couple Jordan meeting because of softball but will be back in June as my calendar clears!!

First, a personal message to Mike -

now back to our regularly scheduled post
Highest 407 lb
Surgery 5/17/10
Last week: 185.2 lb
This week: 184.2 lb
Fluctuation this week: -1.0 lb
Total loss: 222.8 lb

For some reason, it has been a couple of difficult weeks for me, not weight wise, but head wise. I've been in a bit of a funk and just seem restless. Maybe it's time for a vacation. I feel bored and when that happens I have the urge to hit the pantry, refrigerator or whatever is handy. At that point, I get a bit pissed that I cannot (or do not) enjoy the same foods I did pre surgery. And that too rubs me the wrong way. Crazy, huh?

But meanwhile, I realize that I am able to do so much more than I could. And at the same time realizing that I am not really exploiting my newfound physical ability. I need a hobby. LOL maybe skydiving or rock climbing or alligator wrestling ... Something to get the ole juices flowing.

Hope you all have a great week guys.

Thanks Ken.  Sorry you are in a funk.  Sometimes this whole thing gets a bit tiring and you absolutely need to shake things up.  Maybe something not physical at all like reading a good book may give you the recharge that you need and get you back into the swing of things.  Good Luck and Stay Strong!  We are all here for you!

I have definitely plateaued and haven't been losing any more weight, would love to get to 190ish, but slowly but surely the weight is coming off.  Any tips would be greatly appreciated on how any of you got the last few pounds off would be greatly appreciated.  I'm definitely able to eat more now, and am able to tolerate chicken, fish a little better than I was a few months ago.  I have scheduled an appointment with my nutritionist to get some more pointers also

Awesome post Mike!! Congrats on the drop below 300 and may you run like the wind that you've been passing lately:-)

As I wake up this morning to 4" of fresh snow, I am reminded of how fast things can change.  I look at our weight loss numbers on this forum, and it is amazing how quickly folks have dropped the weight.  I think it is important to remember not to get discouraged when we hit a small plateu or a week or two doesn't go the way we planned.  Overall, we are all kicking some serious butt in the weight loss arena!!  We just have to remain diligent.

May you all have a great week ahead.

Thanks, I meant every word of it and it is truly a rebirth!  Boy have I hit my share of plateaus but I don't let them get me down and instead have learned to shake up my routine by either adding exercise, removing exercise, changing up exercise, adding food, removing food, whatever it takes and I have always gotten through it and started losing again.   This is a life long marathon and by no means a sprint we are on.  As for the snow, please keep it where you are.  It was 75 degrees today and beautiful spring weather today.  I am ready for spring!!
