My scale is stupid
I was tracking my calories, at almost a month out i am hitting about 620 calories and 60+ grams of protein and plenty of water. I have gone from 20 pills a day to 6 and am down 33 pounds. What I cant figure out is at that caloric intake everyday should show a loss. There are some days where me and the scale just stare. I look at him and he looks at me and I wait for it to tell me something new and I think its telling me to get off. Given all the positives I have nothing to be unhappy about. Pain is gone, movement is improving walking has become less of a chore although I have not been doing enough. I have had a few foamy episodes but they too soon passed. Stupid stupid scale, my scale is stupid. I want declining numbers daily damn it, I do notice tying my shoes is no longer a 10 minute ordeal of holding breath turning bending and twisting. But come on 600-650 calories and Im not hungry I should be at goal already. Stupid scale. I do notice a little head hunger creeping up now and then. I treat it with a trip to the bathroom and me and my scale stare at each other for few minutes. Seriously I do get a few cravings but they dont last long. trying to eat as many different things as I can some of them are not ready for prime time. My Nut does not like my protein powder as its 140 calories a scoop its low in sugar and fat but calories a bit high. I have one scoop a day with 1% milk, without it I am 20-25 grams short on protein, My meals average 12-16 grams of protein and I am full. Just rambling thanks for listening. Looking for a good protein bar under 10 gr sugar 10gr of fat and a lower cal protein powder (under 140 cal for 26 gr of protein) if anybody has some personal experience,
People would use the phrase "scale whoore". I use to do the same thing...3-4 times a day. The weight will drop. You will go through many stalls during your weightloss. The body needs to cycle out the fat through the liver...Much of it is water retention...Then "BOOM" a drop of a few pounds!! Patients grasshopper...
Mostly tongue in check fellas, I understand i did not get fat overnight it took many days to build this temple so it will take a few to remodel it. But 650 calories, who would have thought that would tame the hunger beast. My wife has yelled at me she is going to hide the scale. I try to only get on every other day. There currently is only one ***** in my armor is I am not exercising enough. Between studying and recovering I am just damn tired but I have noticed a considerable improvement in walking pace over the last few days. I stil think my scale has issues and really needs to get on board with this new program. i am also a bit touchy lately , like need a bubble bath and hug or rip your head off kind of touchy, stupid estrogen laden fat cells. have a good day
Well, gotta say ur post was a remember when for me. I know at first it seems as though the pounds should be flying off w/ such small caloric intake. But like others have said, really a process of ups and downs. Trust me, if you stay true to the program, the weight will come off. I had a HARD time w/ the Sparring w/ the Scale too, but now am a little better w/ it and realize I win if I keep doing the things that have helped me lose 150 lbs!!
Best,
Bill

I do quite a few protein bars as I have had problems with shakes making me nauseous. The Pure Protein are probably my favorite overall, considering cost, protein, sugar and availability. I also do Atkins and Zone, but you have to watch both sugar and protein amounts as they vary widely. When I get tired of the same ones, I will make a trip to the Vitamin Shop or somewhere similar and splurge on a few of the more expensive ones, but again watch closely for differences in protein amounts and sugars. I never buy anything with more sugar grams than protein grams. And, I don't dump on sugars, it's principle and for me a better choice.
I am personally not opposed to weighing daily like so many on the board are. But being on the scale multiple times a day doesn't do much but frustrate me since my weight always goes up all day, and then down at night. it only ticks me off to get on the scale multiple times a day. I weigh once each morning at the same time buck-ass nekkid to be as accurate as possible. If it looks like I've gained a bit, I'll trim my body hair to get down to my fighting weight..LOL.
Just keep up the good work. Good things will happen.
