2 weeks away - VSG surgery
I'm having my VSG surgery in 2 weeks on April 12th. I'm excited and a little nervous at the same time.
Been overweight most of my life. Also have type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure and cholestorol. BMI is approx 36.
I'm 5'7 and 229 lbs today. I hoping to get to goal weight of 170 (or approx 60 lb loss).
Any other guys with similiar builds and BMI have good results??
I'm 6'1 and started New Years day at 280 with a bmi of 37. Type 2 diabetes with a lot of meds and cholesterol and triglycerides high also. I had a VSG on 1/3/12 and as of this morning have lost 50 pounds. I haven't weighed 229 since Clinton's first term, so I'm pretty happy. Lots of guys have lost faster but I'm old and lazy. I'm off three diabetes meds and have reduced insulin from 52 to 12 units. I expect at my three month check next week to come off insulin and replace it with just an oral med. I have had no dumping syndrome and haven't even thrown up. Very little actual pain. Typical low energy for a couple of weeks but really doing well for the last couple months. Would I do it again? Absolutely. Excited is good, a little nervous is completely normal, losing weight is the best.

Roger
