Can you share some of your top "FART" moments...
Thought we could get a thread going for those who have lost a ton of weight. On The Men's Forum we call them "fart moments"...Yeah, a bit crude. We just hated the WOW moments the estrogen-laden forums were spewing...
Someone will probably share what FART stands for...Don't really remember...Things like "F" Fantastic. It's those amazing moments when we are shocked at something we've noticed...That we haven't done in a long, long time. I've gained some weight back over the years but here are 3 of my best moments.
1. Walking (bounding) up stairs two at a time.
2. Fitting into size 36 pants...I'm now a size 39...To give you an idea.
3. Why is it taking so long for my bath to fill up?? I've used this same tub for 15 years...Why is it taking longer?? If you don't get that last one...Take a minute and think about it!!
So what about you?? What are your best moments post op (or with great weightloss)...Things like: steering wheels, restaurant booths, extender buckles in airplanes...

There are a bunch, but here area few that come to mind immediately.
1 sitting in a restaurant booth for the first time in over 20 yers
2 flying without the two seatbelt extensions I had been using
3 buying clothes in any store I want rather than only at the big and tall store
4 buying and then riding a bicycle
5 realizing that I can now walk without panting or getting pissed that I have to walk around. Then, actually trying to find ways to walk like walking to lunch or just walking around the block at lunch time just because I want to move around
There are a ton more ...

Sorry this sounds too exclusive. Even those of you who have lost some weight...What are some of those moments? I know you're out there... Here is one for me...Putting all my weight on a restaurant chair. If anyone has broken a chair in public (I have about 3 times)...How you feel mortifed and embarrassed. So much of these moments involve walking places...The energy, the fun, the not being noticed by people. More energy to play with the kids or grandkids...Anyone else??
Here are some of my moments,
1. Sitting at a booth in a restaurant and not having my body touch the table.
2. Jogging 3.5 miles in 32minutes.
3. Being able to bend over and tie my shoes without running out of breath.
4. Going from a size 42 pants to 32 pants size.
5. Looking in the mirror and not recognizing the person I was looking at and feeling GREAT about it.
6. Signed up for an upcoming 5k run next month.

I have had a ton of FART (Fantastic, Awesome, Remarkable, Terrific) moments during my journey but one that was the biggest surprise to me was the ability to RUN and actually enjoy it. I regularly run 4 or more miles at a time now for at least three times a week. Never, ever, and I mean ever, in my life did I imagine myself when I was over 500 pounds being able to run, let alone enjoy it!
Oh yeah and being able to look straight down and see my junk without doing a yoga pose is pretty FART worthy as well.
A few friends were talking about sky diving this summer and I said sure... Yikes... The sky is realy the limit!!

Here is the thread that changed WOW to FART.

I have had hundreds and the sucky thing is that you really stop noticing and forget them. Here is a quick list though
- touching knee to nose
- first 5k
- first marathon
- first goofy
- 4 pull ups
- banged a really really hot chick from my gym
- first time I cut down a tree (big oak) cut the logs and stacked the brush in one day
