Congrats Mike on losing the 200 - Wow that is impressive.

I am holding steady this week. I was pretty low key this week and didn't get out to do my walks like I should have. We have been having some major wind storms in the pacific northwest and the gale force winds have kept me huddled up inside. I should have gone on the treadmill more but I was feeling quite indulgent. It is so easy to see how I can fall back into old patterns. So yesterday was up for a long walk and another one planned for this afternoon. Also, on Friday I did a bunch of tree pruning in the fruit trees. It is such a rush to climb a ladder and know that I am below the legal weight limit for the tool.

I have it in my head that this is going to be a good week, now my job is to make it a good week. We shall see next sunday.

Good Morning Guys,

Not a great week for me. I have a mild case of pneumonia and haven’t been able to exercise at all.

I still have it, and hope I get over it soon. As such, 2 lbs. lost for the week might not be so bad.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. We went from 70 yesterday, to snow on the ground today.

I was on the road again this week for work. But, cir****tances were such that I was able to maintain my “normal" workout routine and was able to pretty much stick to my “maintenance" diet.

I’m 17 months post-op after RNY surgery. I love the fact that “peter pouch" still can’t handle large meals. One of my biggest fears was that the pouch would start stretching and I’d start reverting back to my pre-op “gorge" routine.

I honestly think this is going to be a long-term / lifetime solution to my weight problem. And, the difference in my mobility is absolutely amazing.

High Weight = 310     Surgery Weight = 300   Dr's Goal = 200   My Goal = 190

The fact that I feel like I'm not limited to the type of food I can consume ( I choose to avoid high fat, fried and refined carbs, all in extreme moderation,) knowing that I can enjoy good food at limited quantities is comforting in itself because I can enjoy "the taste of things" without bingeing as a result of involuntatry restriction. Dense protein, veggies and whole grains are something I have accepted as part of my lifestyle change and if I'm only going to eat 3 oz. of main course, I'm going to make sure it tastes like I am not missing anything. That, and regular excercise, and I'm ready for maintenance.  Just sayin'...

Hi All,

Sunday Morning (Albeit Evening for me) Check In:

High:  346
Surgrery:  326
Last Week: 199
Today: 201
Diff:  +2

Slight uptick in weight. Not overly worried as I am doing pretty good w/ eating, drinking H20 and exercising.

Have been struggling a little lately w/ one thing though. I have lost roughly 150 pounds. Now that I am basically in maintenance have been a little bummed as I am no longer losing. I have in my mind that I want to get to 175 but have been stuck at 200. Anyone else have this problem?

Best,
Bill

I noticed our numbers are similar, you are ahead of me by a bit, when was your surgery?

I think for all of us, we have a "wow that would be cool" goal, but I am also trying to take joy in the journey.

For me, hitting size 38 pants was my biggest "wow" moment so far, 200 lbs is my next "major wow" and 175 is certainly way out there on the horizon as that would be really neat.

But...if I stopped losing today... I actually could be happy!  So I guess my thought is...what can you do at 175 that you cannot do now?

You are probably at the point that "most" people are... and it will take a real effort to lose that 25 pounds, whether that is an extreme committment to exercise and/or really looking hard at the current diet and what has slipped back in?

I am to the point I am trying to decide if I want to really get serious about exercise...I have consider P90X type stuff for when I hit this weight... or other cross training.

Look outside your comfort zone for exercise!?  Krav Maga?  CrossFit?  Train for marathon?  (Triathlon).... pick your poison to move you from here to there..
