I had VSG not RNY, so take that for what it is.  (YMMV)  However, I didn't go for 6 or 8 days after surgery.  Then it was more like urinating from the wrong hole...  (TMI I know, but when you are on a liquid only diet, liquid in, liquid out is the mantra)

I don't think I had a solid for about a week.  With all the pain meds, etc... everything gets a little backed up.  I remember being a bit constipated early on so make sure that you take a stool softener if they didn't send you home with one (of course check with your surgeon first to be sure its ok).

It will happen when it happens!  In not too short of a time, based on experience and other postings, you be needing to keep the plunger handy!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
