Food Stuck
Boy oh boy, that really hurts. I ate some chicken too fast and apparently did not chew it well enough. I thought if I drank some beef broth it would help. Wow, big mistake... I was ready to call emergency but decided to get on the forum. I searched and found something on the main forum that helped me get through it. Luckily I was able to lose my dinner so to speak, and my wife had Papaya enzyme tablets and that seemed to help. I still feel there is some stuck, but I will wait awhile to see if the Papaya helps.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Yeah I really struggled with that the first few weeks after surgery, eggs also got stuck, peanut butter on banana, etc.
Basically the entry to the tummy is still swollen, and narrower than normal and I had to NOT eat those for a few weeks and let it all heal up better.
I can eat those things now without an issue, but if you have this problem, def go to TINY bites any anything solid, don't just rely on "chewing" them into small pieces, too easy to let something go down by accident.
If I did this once or twice, it seemed to irritate the opening even more and I would back off to more liquid/puree stuff for a day or two to allow it to heal a bit!
Here is my version of your post!

Some good info from the guys in there

Definitely dry meats will cause this.. but sometimes it happens for no reason at all. Eating stuff you've eaten before with no problem.. I suppose it could have something to do with how fast you eat it. Papaya enzyme usually works for me.. (almost immediately****ep some in the glove box of my car. but today nothing helped.. Food was stuck. wouldn't go down or up. I sorta had the "foamies" not as bad as others have described it.. but I had way too much water in my mouth.. and seemed to be constantly swallowing. I suffered with pain in my pouch and was very uncomfortable.. then I decided I needed to do something because sitting "listening/worrying" about my pouch wasn't helping.. I walked for about 15 minutes and the pain eased up and it seemed to pass.. I've done this before.. Don't know if the walking helps.. or if it just keeps your mind off it until the food can pass.
I'm still surprised when this happens.. because normally I don't have any problem eating.. and
although I do chew a little more and eat a little slower than in my "fat gulping days" I still eat pretty fast.

Hello, I don't think i have had anything stuck...but i have gotten sick from either eating the wrong foods or eating too much. I ate 1 bite to much a few days ago and that was not fun. I have never been able to dump so I just have to suffer till it passes...usually 30 min to an hour,
So tell me about these Papaya enzyme tablets, what do they do for you?
I would never try this, but a lady told me one time that she had meat stuck and she mixed meat tenderizer in water and drank it. I guess it broke it up

Been there, done that... A few times I've eaten something dry like chicken without respecting the Mindful Eating Mantra. Missed a meal and wolfed down that dry food without chewing it to mush consistancy like I always do and blammo. My proven remedy is to just go lay down for 30 mins or so until things pass. Hasn't happened too often but enough so I know how to "fix" it!
