So...What's for breakfast??

Thought we can do a thread on what you have for breakfast. We've done this before, but for new post ops it can be good. Your pre op WLS meal will probably look a lot different than your post op one. As the weeks and months go by, the post op meal will change till you usually work into some routine that works.
Anyways...Here are some of the things I will have for breakfast. Mind you I don't eat all of these at once, but may have very small amounts for breakfast on different days. I have moved away from the protein shake. Many people live by them in the mornings...even those years out. I will look into the fridge and grab things like; Wendy's Chili (with cheese), different plain nuts, some oatmeal from the day before, some type of vegetable (cooked mixed or things like spinach, carrots, cabbage), left over protein from the restaurant (sandwich), yogurt, some milk to take my morning pills, a small slice of banana or orange, a piece of beef jerky, roasted soy nuts, raisins. Again not every day, but I try to very, to help with the absorption. I go a little overboard that way...Just me. So what is usually on your menu for breakfast??

For me usually a protein bar. I've never been able to do shakes, so protein bars are a good source of morning protein. Sometimes, I'll do oatmeal or yogurt with fruit or a bit of crunchy granola on it. But Monday thru Friday, it's generally protein bars.

Sip on 60 grams of protein for several hours. It's isopure in two liters of water with boiled and blended organic Peruvian cocoa and Folger's chrystals.

Plant matter beginning with the letters c-o-c! Peruvian cocoa is great stuff, for sure.

Either a single poached egg with 1/2 of a Hormel breakfast ham steak or a small ham and cheese omelet.  Try not to drink anything with it but if I've got a Starbucks sitting in the fridge I can reheat.... mmmm

ETA:  Thought about this when I was fixing my breakfast - steak!  Had some left in the fridge and it will join the egg instead of ham this morning.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Start every morning with a 100ml cup of yogurt.  Usually that's it until lunch,, but some mornings I'm hungry and I'll have 2 poached eggs on a half piece of toast.  and 2 cups of coffee.. usually before the yogurt.. Breakfast is the only meal where I don't strickly adhere to the half hour rule about drinking beverages.
I'm never hungry in the mornings.. The bit of yogurt tides me over till lunch

My goto bfast is 3 morning star farms veggie link sausages.  Great stats and ready in a couple of minutes.  Lately I've been making a one-egg omelette with a wedge of laughing cow light french onion cheese crumbled in as filling.  Today I added 1/3 cup of Jimmy Dean turkey sausage crumble.  Good stuff!  sometimes I'll have some veggies in my omelette - especially if I'm at a restaurant.

I have three go-to breakfasts.  I pretty much never stray from one of these three:

1.  Protein Shake (least likely - only if I am too busy or running late and can't do actual food)

2.  "Breakfast Scramble" - 1/4 cup of egg beaters, green onions to taste, 1/4 cup of Jimmy Dean Sausage Crumbles - All scrambled together with a slice of 2% cheese melted on top.

3.  "Egg Muffin" - 1/4 cup of egg beaters, green onions to taste, 1/4 cup of Jimmy Dean Sausage Crumbles, all in a muffin cup (Make 12 at a time) with melted shredded cheese mixed in before being baked, and then just refrigerate.  Heat one at a time in the morning.

Not much variety, but works for me.
