Daniel,
Just noticed you're using RMAP. That's were I had my surgery and Dr. Smith assisted my doc (Dr. McKinlay). They have a fantastic program and I'd encourage you to follow their "blue book" religiously. They also have a great support group and their on-line forums are also good.
I was very happy with the care I received at the hospital (St. Marks). All of my nurses had either had WLS or were married to someone that had the surgery. Excellent care and compassion.
For me, surgery was almost a non-event. I had it on Friday morning, went home Saturday, and was back to work on Wednesday. Didn't even have to use any of pain meds they prescribed.
Keep us posted on your surgery.
