Congrats to all of you meeting your goal and even to those of us who are still trying - trying is important. This was an extra good week for me. I am back at work following my recovery period since my surgery - I took an extra five weeks on top of the four I was allowed to maximize my recovery time. So going back to work was great. People saw quite a change in me and they were all very encouraging.

I work at three different jobs. It was really good to go back into my theater work and discover I can now fit into the smaller places that I gave up on. Also when I climb a ladder now I am under the safety rating limit. My work for the hockey team is really good too except my team keeps losing. But everyone there has been really good an understand why I don't go to the staff buffet anymore. Still I have been known to swipe a cookie now and then. But I found out that the cookies are made with white flour which my system doesn't like all that much. My real work at the college is really good too. I have made my new years resolution to take the stairs for everything under 4 floors high. With a few exceptions I think that is doable.

My vanity got a huge caress this week when an article about me was published in our local newspaper. Its just me on my fitness bandwagon but it was nice too see and helps keep me honest. http://www.timescolonist.com/health/Classes+geared+obese/5949782/story.html

I only lost one pound this week but that's okay, as long as it is in the right direction.

Have a great week guys.

4.0 LBS LOST LAST WEEK
286.6: This Week 1/9/12
2.8 LBS LOST THIS WEEK
93.4 lbs Lost since surgery
142.4: Total Weight Loss

So this week wasn't great.  Wasn't horrible.  Very busy at work.  Lots of irons in the fire, so to speak.  Weight loss was worrying me.  I weigh every other morning or so to see how I'm doing and didn't see any movement all wee****il yesterday when I saw a 1 lb drop.  So, 2.8 isn't bad with that consideration.  (I can't lie though, I wanted to see more!)

Otherwise, doing ok.  No issues really.  Just busy dealing with work and life!

Happy Sunday everyone.

Hi Everyone,  another 3 lbs this week.  Slow and steady.  Monday is my 6 week checkup and I expect my clearance to hit the gym as much as I like.  To date the Dr. has limited me to walking, no lifting over 20 lbs.

Hope everyone has a great week.

355 as of 8/1/11 (Day 1 of the program)
323 as of 9/21/11 (Surgery Day!)

253.8 as of 1/3/12
251.8 as of 1/9/12

So I officially lost 2 pounds for this week, but I am one of those that weigh EVERY day because I cannot wait.  It is easier for me to see my weight go UP (and down) all week long rather than be disapointed a week later and maybe be on an UP day and get discouraged!

I hit as high as 254.x during the week, then dropped slowly to 253.0 yesterday and and then the 251.8 this morning.

I have seen this repeatedly since my surgery, and someone posted a REALLY helpful post a few months back that explained your body MUST first retain water to convert the fat to glucose...which is then used for energy!!  That has mentally prepared me and sure enough, EVERY weight gain is followed by a few days of loss until I hit a new low!!

Outside of that, I have a couple "neat" things going on!!  I have ALWAYS wanted a Corvette, since I was a kid.  I had posters of them on the walls, the various tshirts and hats over the years, but they are really "tiny" in the ****pit, made for skinny people you know.

Well a couple days before Christmas, I saw an ad, guy with an 88 Corvette wanted a Jeep Wrangler.  I had not drove my Wrangler much this year, and over a couple of days, we hammered out a straight trade and I brought home my baby!!

I only got to drive it a day or two and then it was in the shop getting a few electrical gremlins worked out.  But finally I got to pick it up yesterday and drive it to work today for the first time!!

I actually FIT in this thing!!  Yes, losing another 50 pounds and I will fit even better, but it does not feel awkward at all already!  So that is "Neat thing" #1, and I might have to change my name to "VetteNerd"!!!   :)

Neat Thing #2...sport bikes, crotch rockets, whatever you want to call them are ALSO for skinny people and look weird on big guys.  So naturally I always "preferred" cruiser style bikes, Honda CB750 and later a Shadow 1100.  Honestly I have been looking at cruisers again and "dual sport" bikes.

Saturday morning I see an ad for a 1988 Ninja (WOW, same year as my Vette, same year I graduated High School....) for $700!??  I email back and forth, it has been sitting, it is FILTHLY, running a bit rough.

I end up buying it for $575!!!  So all of a sudden, I am the "kinda guy" that can drive a Corvette, and a "Crotch Rocket".....WOW!!!  I don't feel awkward, the bike feels great...(running it got the carbs cleaned out again so running much better now)

Final "Neat Thing" is more of an observation.  I "hate" working on my various cars, Jeeps and motorcycles.  Washing a car is no fun....right?  Or was THAT weight related too?

I spent LAST weekend washing my Vette for nearly 2 hours, and then 2-3 hours Last Sunday working on my Father in laws car and the wifes SUV.

Yesterday I spent 2-3 hours cleaning the filthy Ninja 750R up (still needs a lot more cleaning), then I go pick up the Vette and take it to Autozone to replace the battery.  I am crawling around on my back removing fenders to get to the battery...I end up "working" on cars/bikes for probably 4 hours all told!!??

Who IS this new creature that can get all the way down on the concrete with a wrench, jump up and then do it again!??

Wife is cutting me off (did I mention the Mtn Bike a couple months ago)...no more Toys.... (No more room!)

But I got to tell you....life BEGINS with WLS....   :)
