191.7 lbs Total Weight Loss

The scale wasn't on my side this week but the exercising was great.  I logged a total of 24 miles this past week on the treadmill.  15 miles running and 9 miles walking.  Great week for exercise.  I found that I was very hungry this week probably due to the increase in exercise and unfortunately there were temptations (chips/cookies) left around the house from New Year's that got the better of me!  I've got to get my bad eating back in check and increase my protein next week if I'm to continue exercising/training like I am.   All of the temptations will be removed from the house and replaced with healthier alternatives.

Long week at work and the new exercise schedule (Sun 3 miles running, Mon Off, 3 miles running on Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri Off, 2 miles running on Sat).  With walking and cross training mixed in as well.  Great day weather wise (61 degrees) yesterday which allowed me to do some of the yard work that I hadn't had time to do earlier in the fall.  It is amazing how much easier bending and raking and climbing ladders, etc.. is now at this weight.  Gotta love that!!

Great to see all of the activity on the forum this week with a bunch of new guys and a number of veterans returning.  Welcome to all if I haven't already said so and glad to have you all here!

Hope everyone else has a great week!

Got back on the wagon this week. Mike I know all about those temptations as that what was derailed me at the end of 2011. I ate a lot better, got in 3 really good long walks and did an Xbox Kinect workout 5 days this week. And it showed as I lost 4 pounds.

I go back to the doctors this week for my 3 month follow up. this will be the first look at my labs, so hopefully everything is in line there. I am also excited to get his feedback on my progress.

I hear you Corey.  I have removed all of the temptations from the house.  Having them around seem to be my downfall.  Just got back from a 3 mile run and feel great.  Its a brand new week!  Great job on your 4 pound loss this week!

Total loss from start weight: 115 LBS.!!

Well, another 2 lbs. down this week and I have reached the hospitals goal for my expected post-op weight loss. The goal of 170ish is my personal goal and was chosen because it is in the upper range of a normal BMI for me. I'm certain these last 20 are going to be the hardest. But you guys will be hearing all about it!

I have been getting to the gym regularly for an hour or so after work and doing a run/walk interval cycle on the treadmill. The days I weight train for 15 minutes for a warm up and 45 minutes for just cardio. The workouts are getting easier every time and I have doubled my weights on the Nautilus equipment since I started in Oct.

I have been experiencing mild nausea in the A.M.  the last week or so, not puking but the vitamins are going down a little hard.  It seems to get better by lunchtime, and I am able to eat breakfast, just kind of a jumpy feeling. I've had a slight sinus deal going on this week, maybe I'm swallowing too much crap from my nose. Or my spliced nerves are repairing and rearing their ugly head! No issues other than that.

Mike, I'm totally with you on the carb temptations around the house. I find myself wanting to graze after dinner and keep wandering over to the "carb cabinet" . I'ts a slippery slope that I am constantly trying to stay off of. It's the crackers and dry cereal that will start my carb cravings and a piece of fruit seems to be a distraction.

Have a great week, guys, I'm always lurking and I'll post if I see anything worthwhile. Later....

Congrats on hitting your pre-surgery goal!!  That's awesome.  I agree with the idea of a piece of fruit as a fantastic substitute for those empty carbs and will try that strategy this week.  Just had a banana and it tasted amazing!!   Have a Great Week!

Good luck with the C25K program.  I started it on 10/2/11 and completed it without a problem.  I am now running 15 miles a week on 5 days in training for a 5K in April.  I actually love running now!

Morning guys. Emotional roller coaster with regard to the WLS.
Became a "slave to the scale"; weighing in daily because it seemed like I wa****ting a stall.
At first I even had gone up a pound and stayed there for days. But thanks to learned advise that I've gotten on the board, I didn't follow past errors, just say WTF !, and just let a back slide occur. That would have been the old Doc.
The new Doc says "Fat Boys Quit!", and stuck to the diet and exercise then it broke thru over the last two days.
I know there are stalls and plateaus in my future, but hopefully I'm gaining tools to battle them when they occur.
Down over 85 pounds since September and feeling great! I've added resistance training to the walking and  have picked a 5K to walk this spring and will run one this fall.

Have a great week you losers.
"Future's so bright, I gotta wear shades!"
