Just spent the week in hospital

I've mentioned that I have been a bit down, tired and dizzy. Well, it got considerably worse and finally Monday I went to the ER. my HGB was 5 (13 is normal, at 8 the hospital begins transfusions, 5 is critical). I got 5 units of blood and my HGB is up to 11.5, but we still don't know why I am so freaking anemic all of a sudden.

Ive had colonoscopy, endoscopy and lower bowel series looking for a bleed. All show nothing. Today, we did a camera endoscopy where you swallow a camera that shoots pics of your innards from top to bottom (literally your bottom). I should get results Monday and will hopefully determine why I am bleeding. By the way, I have blood in the stool.

It's all pretty frightening and frankly I am pissed. I didn't go through all the **** I have in order to be sick now. I guess that means that I am strong in saying I'm going to beat this **** whatever it is. But, I'm certainly not happy to be fighting again. I like feeling strong and slim, so I'm not giving up, but, hell it's time for karma to stop ******g with me. LOL

Be sure they check your remnant stomach. It is full there and out produces acid that has nothing to work on on there. If this last check shows nothing I would insist on it.

Is the blood reddish our black? Black tarry crap means a bleed higher up in your system.

Sorry to hear of this and hope for a speedy resolution to the problem.

I was wondering why I didn't see any posts from you the last few days.  That sucks!!!  Hope they get everything figured out quickly and fix you back up.

If you need anything...  I am just down the road in Pearland!

Thanks for all the good thoughts. I'm feeling stronger and my attitude is improving. Now if we can just get to the bottom of the problem so I can stay that way! Oh yeah, I still have to "expell" the camera from my system. You may all hear that when it happens.
