I was just wondering were he went. He gave me alot of great sound advice and guidance. When I was just out of surgery.

DX boogied some time ago.  He did have some really good informational post.  For a while I kept the Sunday Weigh In going and after a time I passed it along to Michael.  He has done a really good job with it.  DX, if he lurks on occasion, would be proud.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

He had some issues with OH management and ended up leaving and unfortunately we lost the smartest weight loss surgery expert out there. I'd be surprised if many surgeons know more about the surgery than DX. Not the actual cut and paste part but the effects of surgery.

Here is a post of his that I liked.

He is on Facebook also.

I guess you need to know more than his "Dx E" monaker to find him on Facebook.

Like others have said...Issues with OH. A little background of DX (what I think I know of him). He is a college professor at a major university...In the theater arts. He also does professional set designs for major plays around the country. Because of his problems with Obesity Help, he has chosen not to post here much anymore. As you can tell from his post he has (I believe) the most knowledge of anyone (including doctors) concerning the RNY procedure. When he had his RNY he had major complications. He was in the hospital for (I believe) 6 months. Take a well educated man with a ton of time on his hands...Trying to find the solutions to his medical problems...He read anything and everything he could on RNY. Asking question upon question to surgeons give him the knowledge that he has today. Also because he has this wealth of knowledge many locals wish to use this information (drill him with questions)...He only has so much time. DX if you are looking at this, I don't want to put words in your mouth and if anything is incorrect please verify it. My 2 cents. Brian PS When he left (along with 1/2 of the Men's Forum), it felt like a football team with the starting quarterback getting a broken leg!! What do you do? Do you fall over dead...No, you keep pressing on. I felt I needed to stay here for myself (support) and to be there for the new men. Other men felt what was done to the Men's Forum was uncalled for and chose to leave on principle sake...I respect them for their decisions too. Just me.

I vaguely remember something about OH ceasing to support it's long term members and particularly, the ones who participated actively. I remember at one point Dx even presented at an OH conference. I'm not sure if there was a leadership change or a policy change or what.

A OH manager came on the Men's Forum and called DX (something like) petty or childish. Everybody hit the ceiling!! It was a young man wearing a sombrero in his avatar...We called him Sombrero Boy. He was interjecting stuff that made the men furious. He had no knowledge of WLS or that DX helped found (with some of his own money) OH...
I'll give you an example of what it would be like today (just an example...Don't read anything into this). It would be like OH management telling Michael on the forum..."You're too sensitive...You need to move on..." Well Michael is always there with the supporting phrase (thank you Michael)...Eager to respond and be a support. You men would be ticked!! Anyways...OH said it to the wrong person about the wrong thing. Just me. PS They gave no apology...

I figured Sombrero boy would be gone in a few months (correct). Personally, I think it's best to just pretend that the OH people aren't even there and just do it for the forum members. That's always been my opinion. If you pay too much attention to website and forum management, you are certain be disappointed.

Dx? Won't you come back?

Dave
