Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah everyone!!!!

So I got back in town and back to my own bed late yesterday.  Hadn't been able to post, read, or update on here.  However, I got up this morning and did my weekly weigh-in...  Ii was mindful in my eating over the long weekend, but wasn't sure if I had really kept it all together or not.  However, I guess I was just being too hard on myself with worrying about my eating.  (I ate my protein first, but did have a few bites of potato salad, a couple of spoons of banana pudding on Saturday, and a two bites of 4 layer pie yesterday.  (I now worry that it just hasn't processed yet and will hit the scale in a day or two)   However, for now I am going to rejoice in my 8lb loss this week and go shopping for some pants today.

Got to see my Mom, Grandmother, Aunts, and Cousins for the first time in months and they were all very happy with my weightloss.  Lots of positive reinforcement that I made the right decision and that I need to stay on my current path.

I will say that being sick with a respiratory infection and two ear infections for a little over a week now has SUCKED but I am still very blessed this holiday season and can't wait to see what new and exciting things the New Year will have for me.

Bless you all and I hope you all had the best ever!

There is a christmas carol that sings "I'm gettin' nutthin' for Christmas" and that is kind of me this week. Actually Christmas was great. I attempted to make a roast pork on Christmas eve which was very tender and nice. But I either ate too much or there was something in it but I felt really really sick. Then on Christmas day we visit with some senior friends of ours. They are Scottish and kind of adopted us us. So instead of having a traditional Christmas turkey dinner we have a Scottish game hen dinner. I was very well behaved but the foul was foul - within a few hours I was driving the porcelain bus and barfing my head off.

On Boxing Day we usually have our own turkey at home, but frankly I was afraid to make it. So I am holding off on the christmas bird til new years.

The last couple of days have been a bummer for me because I have been so busy I couldn't get my exercise in. But now things are going back to normal. Another huge frustration for me is that folks I know are all losing 2, 3, 4 pounds a week. I lose five pounds one week then nothing for two weeks.

I know it sounds like I am having a grumpy christmas but really I am feeling very good, I am happy, I go back to work soon and basically am very thankful for my surgery and my weight-loss so far.

Good on you other guys who are losing and doing fine. I am cheering for you.
