I'm finally able to post again
I was hospitalized on
Thanksgiving morning and was there for one week. I was hospitalize due to atrial fibrilation and an infection dealing with celulitus. I was on antibiotics the whole time I was in the hosp. On 11-30 I was authorized to go to a nursing home and stayed there until 12-09-11. I couldn't stand it there after 12-05--it was boring even though I did need the care.
Ive been getting stronger while at home. I have a home health nurse come 3 times a week and a physical therapist and occupational therapist each come twice a week. My wife rearranged furniture last night so that I can finally use the PC. But. I can't stay on long. Also, I'm getting messages about some new form of Google which I feel is a pain in the ass.

Wondered why you disappeared. Good to have you back but very sorry for your health issues.
There's an interesting thread about the link between vitamin D and heart issues. Could this a contributing factor in your case?
I'm also very susceptible to cellulitus and have had several bouts with it. Probably one of the worst medical conditions I've had to endure. The last time they discharged me from the hospital, I went home with an IV and had to use that to inject myself 3 times per day for the infection. Took an entire month of IV therapy to get rid of the infection.
Hope things get better for you quickly.

I found that atrial fibrilation is a much more serious condition than I originally thought it was. I thought I had been careful with taking the proper dosed of Warfarin ( generic form of Coumadin). I am even more careful now. Unfortunately, the nursing home treated me wrong--My primary had me on 1 full 2.5 mg pill once a week and 1/2 2.5g pill the rest of the week (1.25 mg). The nursing home had me on one 2.5mg and one 1.0 mg for a total of 3.5 mg per day. I could hardly wait to get out of there.
All of my costs at the hosp and nursing home were covered and I have a $25 co-pay per nurse, physical therapist, or occupational therapist visit. Plus, I'm going to get a hospital bed which will help with my lymphadema.
