Sunday Morning Weigh In

If you're excercising alot and not getting enough calories in your metabolism may get into starvation mode and slows down because it thinks you're going to starve it and starts conserving.  Try eating a little more, like 100 or 200 calories a day and see what happens. I know it sounds screwed up,  but it might jumpstart a stall. It did for me. Just make sure it's good calories- like protein.

Tim has a valid point in his post. Your body will react to its fear of starvation. It really can work to "trick" your system by adding a few calories and adjusting that number again later.

So, I missed last weeks weigh-in because my computer was in the shop... However, it is back, and so am I. I am nearing my next goal, of being below 300 lbs. I was hoping to be there by the end of the year, and I think it is a real possibility!

I am down another pant size and timing was perfect. I moved from one department at work to another and the clothing requirements are different. I am no longer needing to wear slacks and polos to work, but instead jeans or bdu pants and polos or collared shirts. So, with the change in work clothes came at the same time as a change in pant sizes. WOO HOOO!!!

Got to spend most of the day yesterday (1p-9p) with my goddaughter (almost 2 yrs old) and her 6 year old sister yesterday while thier parents were busy. Had no trouble keeping up with both of them since I have dropped so much of the anchor holding me down.

We also went to a wedding last night. A friend of ours (bride) got married and we were sitting there at the reception when we saw a familiar face walk by as part of the grooms family. It was our Nurse from our WLS Surgeons office! Small world. Especially in a town a big as Houston! We had a great time and with the dinner being chicken, we were able to easily stay on plan. (Wife and I shared two bites each of wedding cake and threw the rest out)

Glad to be back on here, and see you fellas. Keep up the good work and see ya'll next week!

Mike,

Good for you! I am very happy to hear that. I am thinking of starting the C25K program in the next couple of weeks. (Might be my new years workout)

Keep up the good work!!!!

Four more pounds and feeling better an more energetic each day. Surprising the wife with my willingness to power shop at the mall. I haven't walked in the mall for a few years. Beat after 4 hours. Just a few Advil later and we're going out to dinner and some husband/wife action. What a difference 70 pounds makes. Who knew?

Not sure when I'll be back to jogging with the knees and ankles creaking. Think I'll wait until I'm snugly into the mid 200's. Great for u MIKE, doing it at 325#.  I'm thinking marathon in a year for you!

Way to go Charlie, but seriously, you need a hat change to go with that new wardrobe. You want me to send you a D-Backs hat? You know the series is ours next year.

Keep up the good work you losers!

Hey guys, it's been a decent week. I finally had the work finished on my basement. They needed to jackhammer fifty feet of concrete and install more drainage pipe. Now I can get my gym equipment set back up for the days that we don't feel like making the trip to the gym. I see there been quite a few farts for the group this week! Congratulations to all!

I know you have all heard this a thousand times but I wish I did this a long time ago.

Christmas party tonight on the Spirit of Philadelphia. It's a cruise ship that holds about 600 people. It should be a good time. I was able to fit into an old suit I had so I got lucky there. I only had to buy a new shirt. Sucks paying 90 bucks for a shirt that probably won't fit in a month. I guess it's a good problem to have. have a great week fella and keep up the awesome progress!

buuuuut......................

....the point of this accountability exercise is to force us into weekly confession.

You've done great , and I hope to lose weight like that (actually much more!) but next week you gotta fess up to the weight that you gained/lost on that great dinner cruise,  while I wrapped presents for my stinkin' inlaws  )
