271.2 last Wednesday (was in NYC for my normal weigh in)
269.2 this morning!

Getting excited as I approach the 100 pound mark, not sure if I will make it by 12/31 but it would be neat!

Pants are falling off me, tried on my size 44s this weekend and they fit, they are "snug" but not uncomfortable!  I started with 52s!

Cleaned out the closet this weekend, going ahead and getting rid of all my 3XL shirts with a few exceptions (that fit like a 2XL)

Tried on an XL sweatshirt just for the heck of it and it DID go over me, but VERY snug and not comfortable YET!!  But nice to know it is coming!

Wife had to give me two shirts that were supposed to be for Xmas, they are 2XL, but she is afraid I will be down to XL by then and wanted me to get SOME use from them!!  :)

I finally noticed it last night (the weight loss) when I walked by a full length mirror at the restaurant!  I had to stop and say, wow, that really is me!

Back to the gym this week, it has been since before Thxgiving, did my walking in NYC on the streets but I need some treadmill time and to hit the weights!

Been in somewhat of a stall lately. Still losing but very, very slowly. I need to refocus and get my ass to the gym more often . Still, I'm glad I did this and can't wait to hit goal.

My highest weight since starting this journey was 391.I had surgery on 5/23/2011. Currently, I am tipping the scales at 256 for a total loss of 135 pounds. So why do I still feel like a fat slob? I gotta get past this mental **** and enjoy the progress and everything I could not have done six months ago.

Have a good week fella's and stay strong!

The mental part is the toughest in my opinion. Until we can stop thinking like a "fat" person, I think we are far more likely to lapse back to bad habits and let the weight creep back up. Of course realizing that you have a body image problem is a good start in correcting the thinking, but It takes some work to adjust our self image. In our minds, many of us, myself included never saw ourselves as heavy as we were. Therefore, we don't see the progress that others can see in us. I think that once you can see yourself at your heaviest in the correct frame of reference, it will make it easier to see yourself at the lower weight and therefore to maintain it.

That's a good observation, Ken. I never thought I was as big as I was when I looked at myself in the mirror. But when I saw a picture of myself it was like "holy ****". When I look in the mirror now I still see myself as overweight but everyone whom I tell I need to lose another 30 lbs. are in shock because they think I've lost enough already.

At some point in the 1980s I went to a hospital-sponsored weight loss program that among other things began with a psychological survey including info on body image. Although the program included more of a survey than training on the issue, I found it an interesting area.

I agree with everything that's been said by Ken & Tim and with such rapid weight loss it is going to take a while for your mind to catch up with what the rest of the world is seeing happening to you.  I am right there with you on feeling down on myself some days but when I get up at 5:30am, go to the gym and run for 30 minutes before work I feel alive.    More alive than I have in many, many years.   Remember why we all had surgery and that we have gotten through the hard physical part.  Now we need to continue to stick with the basics and do things that make us feel good both physically and mentally.  A nice long walk with the headphones on it seems to sometime do it for me!!  Good luck and enjoy your new life!!  You have done amazing so far!!

I agree with what everyone has said. The mental part of this experience hasn't been a easy . I need to motivate myself to get my but in the gym so I can be proud of my transformation by summertime.I would just like to look halfway decent wearing some shorts and a t shirt.

Thank you for all the support this group gives, it means a great deal to me.
