Did anyone have hair loss and is it permanent? Not a deal breaker, just wondering...

I had a very slight amount of hair loss. Nothing more than it seemed my hair was easier to pull out. No clumps or anything....And nothing seemingly permanent....

If you are pre op, my surgeon told me the best thing to TRY and prevent it was to make sure your preop diet for a month had lots of quality protein and double up on the multivitamin.

He didn't have any literature on this (I ask since I'm a doc, and didn't know of any), but he said its been his observation thru the years.

I was wearing mine in a flat top at the time and noticed that instead of needing cutting every two weeks it was more like every two months!  I started taking an OTC called Biotin.  You can get it at Wally World.  It helped getting the hair back to where it should be and helps with your skin and fingernails too.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Make sure you get your protein in, at least 60 Grams a day.  Some people swear by the biotin, can hurt and does not cost that much.

As with any rapid weight loss, hair loss is common in some people but not all and is usually temporary until your body adjusts.  As others have said, make sure that you are getting in all of your vitamins and protein.  I personally didn't notice any hairloss and actually feel like the testosterone levels have been kicked up and actually grow facial hair much faster now than ever.  Something I hadn't anticipated but wouldn't change a thing as far as having the surgery or not.  The excess weight is far more important to get rid of than anything else for overall health!

I used to have a receeding hair line. But, after surgery, it's now in full retreat!!

I take Biotin and would really recommend it. And, take it in high does (5 mg).
