Gentlemen, I DID IT!

Yesterday, Sunday October 16, 2011, I completed my 1st Full Marathon - the Metro Health Grand Rapids Marathon - in 4:43:37!!!  WOOHOO!

As I sit (yea no running today) here thinking about the entire experience, I am overwhelmed!  In many respects, it was here at this Men's Forum, where I got the initial motivation and encouragement to accomplish this.  After reading one of Dan Benintendi's post, I started following and posting to the Health and Fitness forum.  When I reach my weight loss goal in December 2010, I knew I needed a "new" goal for 2011.  I decided I would run a Marathon!

Yesterday, I accomplished that Goal.

Thank you to all of you who continue to be a great support and encouragement!  I especially want to recognize Ben, who I mentioned above, Paul Corley who has been a constant source of inspiration, encouragement, and a lot of laughs via Facebook, and Nate Hamiel who has also been there to motivate and encourage with his dry wit  You guys ROCK!

I don't post as often here as I used to, but please know all of you guys, including you "newbies" are often in my thoughts as I am out there on my runs.  Keep working at your goals, both the weight loss, fitness, and other personal goals.  YOU CAN DO IT!  If I can...Anyone Can!

RUN ON!

Eating junk food and CRAP is not a reward...it's a punishment...
it's a DEATH sentence...Reward yourself with Good Health!
