Hey Fellas!
So, this week has been awesome! My wife had surgery 3 weeks after me, and was finally healed enough to start going to the gym with me. So, on Monday we started at the gym together. We have gone all 4 days this week. It was awesome! Very tiring, but felt great to get it done everyday.
I worked my normal 9a-5p Monday - Friday, then hung out with my best friend until 2:30am Saturday morning. Got up Saturday at 10am, went to the gym and did great there. I came home, showered, ate a high protein lunch, and then went over to the same friends house and helped him remove a broken washing machine from his house, replaced the pool filter in another friends back yard, then vacuumed the entire pool and hot tub for her and replaced the chemicals and such that needed to be done.
All of that being said, I was back home at 10:30 last night and in bed. I got up at 9a this morning and feel GREAT. No lower back pain, not leg pain, not foot pain, at all from all of that activity. No exhaustion from the lack of sleep and such. I can definately tell a difference in my body, energy, and activity levels now.
Additionally, I love getthing the almost daily feedback from co-workers that I look great, asking "are you sick or something?" (even that still makes me smile), and you need to buy new clothes, you look like a hobo. These things make me want to keep going.
I haven't cheated. I haven't had any problems with getting my protein or water in. The only real problem I have had is that I had a hard time finding a vitamin I like because my surgeon wants me to stay on a chewable. However, I finally found one that I like and am now just rocking right along!
My wife is doing great with her journey as well, and it makes it soooo much easier to take this journey with her. We are so very happy with our decisions to have surgery, and it is giving us so many more options in life. We have started planning our next vacation - 3 weeks in Hawaii at the end of next summer. (We have been 4 times together and I was born and spent half my childhood there.) I can't tell you enough how I am looking forward to my 8 hour flight without being shoehorned into a seat I don't fit in!!!!!
Here's to next week!!!!

It really feels good to keep dropping this weight! I know I'm still in the honeymoon stage though, but I'll take what I can get. I tried some different foods this week, but man, I am having a hard time. Two spoons of tuna fish and 1/2 hour later I was puking. The same thing with some homemade soup the other day. I know it's just part of learning what my new pouch will handle, but I am now getting a little nervous to try other things.
Drove down to see Doc Brown this week and he said I was progressing just fine. I guess I just need to relax about everything. Excercise is going well and I enjoy walking after lunch while I'm at work the most. It really take my mind off things.
A couple small stinkers. I did cut 3" off my belt and I noticed that I can squeeze betweeen my truck and the garage door. I used to always have to open the garage door to get around it. It's those little things that really surprise me. My 14 year old said to me the other night, "Dad, you look almost flat when you lay down now". That was probably the best fart ever!!
Keep up the good work everyone!

Good to hear Bill. Keep those FARTs coming!! Remember to practice "mindful eating" ie. slow and steady putting the fork down between bites and make sure those meats are moist or moistened with some low fat, low sugar gravy, ketchup, mayo or something like that. That will help to get you past the hump. Even at 8+ months out if I forget to eat mindfully I end up having to lay down for a bit until everything passes... Keep up the good work and look forward to hearing more about your journey!

Put on a pair of my jeans this AM, they fell right off! I met with my Endocrinologist today; I should be off my insulin and oral diabetic meds within a month. He made a few weird comments, said he was glad I had the surgery, weight loss was doing me good, but then went on about how he preferred the lap band since it was reversible, etc. Not exactly what I wanted to listen to. Then met with the surgeon, I’m having some dehydration and urinating brown is not ideal….but trying my best to increase fluids. Aside from that everything is going normal. The fatigue i****ting me like a ton of bricks, but know this will pass. I did graduate to eating stews and chili! Ate my first “meal" in a month, a teaspoon of Hormel Chili. It never appreciated canned Chili so much in my life, it was the best!
