Presidential Salute to my RNY
So does anyone else have this problem?
I've become addicted to hiking and I can't stop. I've been hiking in the White Mountains of NH all summer. Three weeks ago I did a day hike to climb Mt. Washington. That went well and I spent three days last weekend solo-hiking the Garfield Ridge, whi*****luded the summits of Mt. Garfield (4500 ft) and Mt. Lafayette (5249 ft). ~20 miles and 6,000 feet of elevation change in three days. I even stealth-camped just below the treeline on the way up Mt. Lafayette when time ran out on day 2. I felt great afterword and can't wait to hike again! I dream of even longer and more difficult trips this winter.
So now at one year out, I have lost 200+ lbs, which is 100% of my excess weight. I now wear a size 36 pant (down from 56) and a medium shirt (down from 4X).
This WLS thing is awesome!
And thanks to all you guys for the support and person experiences. I have been greatly encouraged reading them!

Congrats on you loss! I appreciate hearing success stories from those further along as it helps keep me focused on the end goal.

Hey Joe, that is awesome. I am going to do some hiking next year as well in the White Mountains. I love hiking and camping and finally getting to a point where I can feel like I could actually do some of these hikes. Hopefully our paths will cross somewhere on the Appalachin Trail!! Great to hear and thanks for posting your successes! Love to hear about them!
Mike-
Thanks for the reply!
Let me know if you want to go together. I'd be very interested in doing some hikes with other RNY folks from around here.
Here's a link to 165 of my photos from that most recent trip. Sorry there are so many! If you look and aren't too bored, you will see me and a couple I met on the trail and finished the hike with.

Hiking the AT is lost of fun - it goes over the Whites and hits all the high points. 80% of the distance of the trail is from Georgia to New Hampshire, but 80% of the effort is from New Hampshire to Maine.
