Well, I am a bit disappointed in the numbers once again this week but I have no one to blame but myself. I had a really bad week with work travel on 4 out of the 5 weekdays and was only able to exercise one day during the past week. My eating wasn't as good as it should have been because with travelling and not preparing well comes bad food choices. This coming week should settle down a bit at work with only one day of travel that I'll make sure to plan for appropriately. I did manage to cut out the Dunkin Pumpkin coffees this week so it is a step in the right direction. I guess the easy WLS party is nearing the end and this has become hard again. All of those past demons seem to be sneaking into my life. It is a little disheartening because I can see the goal line but just can't seem to get over it. I have to be honest that I need some sort of recharge as its now been over a year since starting the pre-surgery diet and I'm really kind of mentally tired of it. I realize this is a life time of choices but Hmmmmppphhh!! I had a few times this past week where I was truly hungry, ate really fast and had to lay down because I felt really sick. Not ever good... Mindful Eating... Grrhhh... Any advice from you long timers that have gotten over these humps would be greatly appreciated. Sorry to kick off the weekly weigh-in as a bummer again but that's just where I am. I guess its part of the ride but not easy...
On an upbeat note I brought my girls to see the Gazillion Bubbles show www.gazillionbubbleshow.com/ at the Providence Performing Arts Center this past Friday night. Last time I was at that theater was actually last December to see the Nutcracker and we had to get special free standing seats at the very back of the theater because I couldn't fit in the regular seats. Well happy to report that we got regular seats on the fifth row and I fit perfectly. Now, this is what it is all about... Must keep weighing these victories against the numbers on the scale and I'll get there.
Its a new week and I'm going to make the best of it! Hope everyone has a great week.

Between all the doctor appointments and my lower energy level due to the anemia, it has been several weeks since I have been to the gym. But my weight has held steady, thankfully.
Even with my current issues, I've been pretty active working around the house, etc. I've painted a bathroom, changed out about half a dozen light fixtures, and today I'm on track to change a bunch of door hardware and finish fixing the paint flaws in the bathroom. It's all stuff I would not have attempted before. I realize that to someone who has not lived with weight issues his entire life, this would probably sound mundane. But, for those of us on this board, it's truly amazing.
I begin all clear liquids this morning in preparation for the big clean-out prior to tomorrow's colonoscopy. So, I will be leisurely hanging out in the bathroom this afternoon cursing the doctor and myself for doing this. Monday, I am pit on a spit like a pig...colonoscopy and endoscopy...yes two tubes for the price of one. And then Wednesday, it's the barium drink upper GI series.
By the end of the week, I will once again be on United Healthcare's **** list of costly members...LOL
Have a good week, guys.

Hello everybody! Well, it was a good week for weight loss, now if I could just get some energy back!!!! I did really well with my walking as I work in a large factory that is about 1/4 mile long. It doesn't take long to rack up a mile or so in just doing my job-That's a good thing. I started soft food, but three bites of a scrambled egg about killed me. I thought it would never go away, but it finally left my pouch and I felt a lot better. I definetly need to be cautious as I start adding in different foods. I'm also trying to be very mindful of slowing down and taking at least 15 minutes to eat.
I feel really happy with the weight loss, but I am irritable and kinda cranky. God Bless my Wife for putting up with me. Correcting that needs to be my focus this week. Attitude determines altitude!!
Question? Anyone know why this ticker doesn't update? I go in and update it about 15 minutes before I post, but it still shows the old number in my post?
Bill
You know how to do this!! I've learned a lot already from reading your past posts. Keep that positive attitude and get the heck away from all high calorie drinks!! Just a suggestion, but maybe it would help to revert back to what you were doing a few months ago with regards to your diet? I surely am no expert as I am just a newborn with all of this, but I have seen that you do know what has worked for you in the past since your surgery. Sometimes it's just hard to get back to those things.

Weight is fluctuating lower than I want. Since I last weighed in here (a couple weeks ago), I’ve dropped another 5 lbs without even trying. That’s a slight concern but I suspect this is just a temporary condition.
I’ve now lost the combined equivalent of a new-born giraffe and an average human brain.

Well, here I am again on the next step looking down. Nothing doing on the scale this week but I haven't strayed from the program (much). This is how it goes, I guess, a week or so of nothing and then BAM.
Had my 3 month follow up at Tufts Thu. and submitted blood for my first labs. I have been diligent with the vitamins and supplements so we'll see how that goes.
I also had two personal training sessions at the gym I have a membership at. I'm setting up an upper body workout program and cardio / stretching tips. Available time and motivation has always been my downfall as far as the gym was concerned. I have to say it's been alot easier these days when I don't have the weight of an 8 year old kid on my frame. I'm sure I will have more positive results this time around.
we're getting ready for a bathroom remodel in the next couple months- one more project off the bucket list LOL

What a week. I was down to 340 the morning of surgery (Tuesday). Surgery went well, took a bit longer than planned though and i had to stay an extra night in the hospital. I posted about that in another thread so won't go into that again here.Slowly but surely I am getting back to myself. I am taking it slow, sipping, getting in 50-60 grams of protein a day, walking around the house every couple of hours to loosen up the gases, and resting the rest of the time.
I weighed in at 353 when I got home and was back down to 340 this morning. My incisions are itching like the dickens, which I know means they are healing so that's a positive. Most of my surgery related pain is gone, mostly just discomfort from the gas shifting around. But my butt is killing me. I think I have a pinched nerve in one of my cheeks from laying on the operating table for 4 hours and then on my back side since then. The pain in my butt when I get up or down is much is the most painful thing going on right now, so I'll take that as a positive as well.
The last thing I need to add is I passed an unintentional test from my wife. She loves to bake, must be why I married her as the old me loved sugary carbs. :) With family and friends coming over this weekend to visit with me she wanted to have something to serve them so she made some banana muffins and chocolate chip cookies. The smells in the house were mesmerizing. But the best part was I had no desire to put any of the goodies anywhere near my mouth.
