Endoscopy today...
Surgery date was 8/18. I'm down about 35 pounds since then, but I can't keep solid food down. So, I went back, and was told I have a stricture. Marvelous.
I go in today, get scoped, and they're going to open it up. Not nervous, I just hate being knocked out. On the other hand, I'm told once I can start eating REAL food, I can start losing some decent weight.
Just venting.

Glad to hear you saw the doc, but just a word of unsolicited advice. Keep a close watch on what you're able to swallow and keep down. If you begin to sense trouble getting liquids down, do not waitbto contact the doctor or get to an emergency room. Dehydration happens quickly.

Sorry to hear your having issues, but having been in your spot a number of times it is well worth keeping the faith. Due to complications (ulcers) I was on Liquids and pureed foods for about the first 5-6 months after my procedure. During this time I enjoyed the joys of solid foods for 4 whole days!
As previously stated the Endoscope is easy and will probably be the best 15-30 minutes sleep you've had in ages. Just make sure they dose you based on your current weight even a 10lb difference can hit you hard! so make sure they take or you give them your weight the day of the procedure.
It will all be worth it in the end.

VERY easy procedure. Like you said, they knocked me out, and it was fast. I felt great, and while I was expecting Propofol, like they did for the Colonoscopy, I got Versed and Fentanyl. As a result, I actually got home (Fiancee driving), and literally couldn't even remember getting dressed at the hospital, or anything. Wow. THAT is some good anesthesia...
Since then, a couple days of irritation from the scope. They found one Ulcer, and ballooned my stoma. Food has been going down, and for the most part staying down. Not ready for ground beef yet, I learned that the hard way. Weight loss has accellerated since I'm getting more protein now.
