Sunday Morning Weigh In - Fall is Coming...
506.5: All time high 9/9/9 (WW start) - BMI = 63.3

336.0: This Week 9/18/11 - 0.6 Lbs LOST this week - BMI = 42.0
160.4 lbs lost since starting the Tufts program.
170.5 lbs lost from my all time highest weight.I had a busy week. I walked 1.5 miles each day at work this week and then walked 18 holes on the golf course during my company tournament. It was a scramble on an executive course. We only had 3 players and ended up even after 18 holes which is actually the best that I've ever came in for that tournament so I was very happy. The winning team was 6 under but they were stacked! My short game has never been so good. I really think that if I started playing more often at this lower weight that I could really improve my game (at least that's my story). The swinging of the clubs are near effortless now. Sweet!!
I helped my mother-in-law settle into her house by weeding the entire front of her house, planting some mums, mowing her lawn, installing some door locks, installing a new toilet, installing some grab bars and a number of other miscellaneous things.
My eating was pretty good all week. Only lost 0.6 pounds this week but it is all good as it is in the right direction. I am settling into this life style and am OK with a slow week here and there. I would like to get to the gym a bit more this week because when I do it really makes me feel good! Must pack my gym bag the night before, set my alarm and just go!! That is my goal for the upcoming week. If I do that and the 1.5 mile walk during lunch each day that should be a big boost for next week's weigh in. Well, at least that's my plan!!
I am going to do some house organizing and purge some more clothes today. I am still holding on to a bunch of 5X stuff that is way too big now and just taking up room in my closet. I measured my waist this morning and for the first time in a very, very long time was under 60 at 59! My first measurement on February 7, 2011 was 74 (I was likely a few inches bigger because that is after nearly 40 lbs of weight loss). So 25+ inches off my waist is crazy.
Well, time to go get to my chores so that I can park my butt in front of the TV to watch the Pats at 4 today. Man did their offense look amazing last week. Now if their defense can pick it up a bit they will be unstoppable! Go Pats!
I hope everyone has a good week and enjoys the cooler weather heading in. I am ready for autumn!

The fat burning machine is in full effect again this week. I guess it's a good example of follow the plan an IT Will work. It's the 3rd week of big Numbers after almost a month stall. Really hoping to make it under 300 before my bday in November. So how many of you with wife's that are worried that your going to be out banging every little hottie that you talk too? We were out on Friday night and I had a few females that I don't know come up and congratulate me on the great job I've been doing losing weight. That was kinda cool.
Have a great week.

Another 6 pounds this week as I am continuing on the pre-op diet. My employer has finally given me the go ahead to take time off for the surgery. I am able to take a the week after my surgery off and to then work from home after that until I am up to being back in the office. As a web applications developer I just need my computer and the internet to do work. I know it's going to be tough trying to do work a week after surgery, but based on the hard time I had to get even the one week I'll take it. My plan is to just ease back into things by taking my 8 hours work day and spread it out over 12-14 hours. And as long as I get my tasks done and can answer emails in a reasonable time frame then my manager is cool with that.
Now that everything is settled on that front, I can full get my self prepared for the start of the next phase of my journey. I have my pre-op appointment with my surgeon tomorrow as well as pre-admission test at the hospital. These are the last official steps before the big day a week from Tuesday.
I really appreciate the support that you guys have given while I worked out the time off issue with work. While my friends and family have been very supportive it's nice to have a place to vent to people who have been there.
Thanks,
Corey

So the first day or so home from the hospital I was in a little pain but It could be because I stopped taking my pain meds. I just wasn't in enough pain to take them so there wasn't a need. Still on a liquid diet I'm getting in at least 64oz of fluids and about 85 grams of protein. I feel like everytime I put a glass down I'm getting ready for my next one... LOL... Knock on wood, I haven't had any issues getting anything down and or keeping it down. I'm looking forward to seeing the scale continue to go down.
I just wanted to say you all are doing an awesome job. Keep up the good work.

Weight was steady this week. That's really my goal at this point - just to maintain and hopefully tone up. That, however, was the bright spot in an otherwise strange week.
I had scheduled a normal regular follow up with my PCP, and I intended to speak with him about feeling tired out, and in fact I have been skipping the gym many days because it just overall has been wearing me out. Additionally, my stair walking routine has begun to cause me to be winded all of a sudden.
I generally get labs done before the visit, so I can ask pertinent questions (and I suggest this for newbies although many doctors will not order labs til after they've seen you). As it turns out I am anemic, even though my iron, B12 and folate are fine. PCP ordered a count of what amounts to immature red blood cells and found me high there indicating that I may have some bleeding. I'm 16 months out from surgery, so heaven knows what that might be. I have an appointment to see him. The only good thing istha he did not seem panicked in his email to me when he suggested I come in to see him, so apparently this isn't an extremely dangerous situation.
Meanwhile, prior to finding out all of the lab nonsense, I had made an appointment with the plastic surgery department at Baylor Medical School for an initial consult. That is scheduled for tomorrow morning, so I guess a group of surgery residents will be looking at my jiggling belly and nether regions trying to figure out how they can perform urban renewal ... And if I can afford to do it even with a discount for being used as a practice event for student surgeons. God, I wish I had never watched so many tv shows about resident doctors.

Well- nothing doing on the scale this week. I'm wondering if I'm getting enough calories in. Sometimes its hard to finish even the tiny amount I put on my plate, especially if it's dense food i.e. chicken and I wind up trying to eat it too fast. (Mindful eating, right??) and yet, sometimes I can slop down a three egg (beaters) cheese omlette no problem.
Met some peeps at the Tufts support group meeting in Plymouth this week. My first time there- the ride was doable and the atmosphere was uplifting. I'll try to make it a regular occurance.
Walked 4 miles on the beach this morning with the pooch, the furthest I've been yet. I picked up 2 lobster bouys and some trash before coming upon a large yellow fish tote. So I threw everything in the tote and hauled it back to the parking lot.
I wasn't expecting the last 1/2 mile to turn into resistance training! HA
Thanks for listening, and it sounds like you other guys out there are doin' great.

THAT'S RIGHT BOYS... MY FIRST CENTURY GONE! It has not always been easy, but nothing worth while is. I finally crossed the first milestone that I set for myself. 100LBS. It has been a great ride and I am so looking forward to the second 100 milestone, only 99 more till then. I am eating well, never hungry, and working out 3 days a week with the trainer from hell... If anyone is local to RI, this kid is great. www.stevegomesfitness.com
He pushes you harder than you push yourself but knows what it is all about. He wasnt born the way he looked. He was the opposite of most of us, scrawney kid getting picked on and did something about it like we are doing. He understands commitment and drive and is a really good trainer. I hop that the next 100 goes as smooth as the first 100 did and we will be having this celebration in another 5 or 6 months.
