I've had zero complications since my RNY surgery 3 years ago.  In fact, I actually gained a so called "complication" which is dumping syndrome.  I wouldn't consider it a complication but more of a blessing.  I can't have sugar, I can't drink regular soda, I can't have ice cream (atleast in regular amounts)  Sometimes, we lose things but gain another.  Your surgeon is a true test of how well your surgery goes.  Mine was trained by a bariatric surgeon of many years.  Yours, I don't know, hopefully you've done some research.  Yes, I'm sure you're heard horror stories, but you know what... the horror stories are the ones that get the most attention and publication.  How many others out there that get nothing published because they went textbook?  Mine went textbook, there are many others that do too.  I never posted story after story to various websites about how well my surgery went, you only hear about the horror stories.  People tend to think about the negative more than the positive.
