Hey Guys...It's been a while
Time does go by fast when you are having fun and living well! I hope you are all doing well and continue to be the best bunch of losers I know.
Life is good. As I write this, my wife and a I are at my son and daughter-in-laws in Nashville. My son (the professional drummer) is playing a gig tonight. The girls have gone out to see a chick flic, so Grandpa has baby sitting duty. Sweet!!! Spending the day with a 19 month old really does put everything into perspective. It's been a great day. And, when that kid says, "Ga-pa"...give Him ANYTHING he wants!
On the weight and fitness front, I continue to do well. I've been maintaining my weight around 187 - 192 lbs, which is a very nice neighborhood for me to live in.
My running has been a real blast and I continue to improve with each race and run. I had the honor and privilege of being on of the 250 runners selected for the Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Run. It was a blast. In a litlle over a month, I will run my Marathon, the Grand Rapids Marathon on October 16. I am ready and pretty psyched! Tomorrow, I'm joining one of the running clubs in Nashville for a nice 17 mile training run. Who wulda thunk it a little over a year ago.
As I wrote above, I sincerely hope you all are doing well. Keep up the great work and progress. Remember this weight loss and healthly lifestyle journey is not a SPRINT....it is a Marathon...but YOU CAN DO IT! Run On!
Mike....a.k.a. Grandpa G.

It's good to hear from you. I know you enjoy your active lifestyle. I don't understand what joys pdople get from running. I remember running about 4 or 5 miles a day following a 20 mile bicycle ride about 40 years ago. Eventually the distances for both decreased when we moved to an urban environment.
I do know active runners. My brother was an avid bicyclist for years and became a runner a few years ago. Now he pedals when it's warm and runs when it's cool. I think the cycling should be enough without having the jarring action on the joints--my brother is 58.
