Happy Labor Day Weekend!

This week's stats:
506.5: All time high 9/9/9 (WW start) - BMI = 63.3
492.4: Tufts Medical Center Program Start 9/20/10
462.5: Lap RNY Surgery day 2/7/11
344.6: Last Week 8/28/11
338.6: This Week 9/04/11 - 6 Lbs LOST this week - BMI = 42.3

153.8 lbs lost since starting the Tufts program.

167.9 lbs lost from my all time highest weight.

Holy, Big Weight Loss Batman!! Six pounds lost this week. That is the biggest number I've had in a long time! My eating was fantastic this week and hit my protein and water each day. I didn't get to the gym at all this week but I was working like a dog all week around the yard and the house to get ready for my annual horseshoe tournament. My dad and I have been doing this horseshoe tournament every labor day for 19 years. I am reallly looking forward to it!! The yard looks fantastic and my horseshoe pits are tip top!! Bring on the competition!! :-)

Amazing how much stuff I've been able to do in the past week at my new lower weight. I've pressure washed the entire house, weeded the entire yard, trimmed the hedges, built awesome new backboards for my horseshoe pits, installed two 10 foot light poles over the pits, installed a new pump on my pool, vacuumed the pool, installed two new fence sections and repaired others, put up a big party tent and a small party tent, built my outdoor movie screen (8' x 10' all metal piping), helped my wife clean the house, took my daughter to soccer, went to a wedding yesterday (which was about a mile down a sandy beach (Scusset if you are familiar), and on and on and on. I wouldn't have ever been able to do all this stuff last year. Believe me, I'm tired but not so much that I can't enjoy today!! What a feeling!

Well, I'm going to cut this short as I need to go hook up the electrical stuff outside and make a final pass around the yard.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day Weekend and takes a few moments to relax as summer officially comes to an end!

Lost another 3 lbs. this week. It's funny how my appetite goes up and down. Some days I
feel like grazing all day and some I couldn't care less. I'm always focusing on the protein
but have had a bite of veggies here and there. I've been sucking down alot of sugar free
popsicles, they are my go-to snack when I get too close to the "carb cabinet".

I have been weilding my chainsaw for a few hours this week and I have a couple cords of
wood scattered over the yard. Thanks, Irene!

I have experienced three NSV's or FARTS as you so fondly refer to them here on the Men's
page. I own an insulation contracting company here on the Cape. I put my tool belt on this
week to help the crew and had to drill some new holes for the belt hook! I did three in anticipation of the upcoming months. I was also able to slide between a 16" on center
framed wall without touching the wood. That was huge! (or not huge! LOL)Went to a diner
with my business partner for lunch and slid right into a fixed seat diner table (you know the ones) that I always used to avoid.

I live about 5 minutes from the Cape Cod National Saeshore and have been taking the
pooch there on a regular basis for a 2 to 3 mile walk on Nauset Light Beach, in the
afternoons, barefoot. Once we get past the general population, there are a couple of miles
of pristine, unoccupied beach (except for the seals and birds) where I can let her run at free
will and we both get some quality excercise.

So that being said, hope you all have a safe and happy (and healthy) Labor Day weekend!

Way to go Tim on those FARTs.  Nothing makes this crazy trip we are on worth more than stacking those up.   I especially like the walks on the Cape Cod National Seashore.  I agree that there is no more beautiful place in the world and that is a wonderful place for a walk.  I love that part of the cape and get there as often as I can!!  Keep up the great work and Happy Labor Day to you!!

Despite my stomach issues that I posted about earlier, I had a good week. Actually, yesterday was very good with my limitations on portions. So, I will continue forward with the limited diet and see what happens.

I'm now officially 3 lbs away from my revised goal. I had moved my goal downward by 10 lbs when I reached it. I guess my body will know when to stabilize the weight. I'm still amazed that I am replacing clothes that have become too big. Yesterday, I tried to wear a pair of shorts I bought at the first of July and had to change lest I was arrested for "sagging." Even at my new lower weight, no one wants to see that ...

Enjoy the holiday guys.

Good to hear that you are doing better Ken.  Hope that the stomach issue turns out to be nothing and takes care of itself but if it persists don't hesitate to see your PCP or surgeon.  Have a Great Week!

Stats below - lost a bit over two pounds this week.  Not as much as hoped but I will take it.

Great news on my bloodwork this week.

No diabetes, 138 total cholesterol, 42 HDL.  Best blood test in 30 years.  Since the diabetes was the straw that broke the camel's back in deciding to do WLS - great news!
All Time High Weight - 370
Starting Weight pre-WLS - 367.4
Surgery Weight - 333
Current Weight - 248
Surgery Date - July 6, 2011

So I guess I will still be able to lose for a while. My ideal body weight is 138 (according to some random metric). I will keep eating right and exercising and see where it takes me. I would still like to lose the belly fat so I have been trying to do more of the core work as part of my daily exercise regiment.

Another solid 4 pounds this week. I tentatively have my surgery date. I am scheduled for Tuesday 9/27. I am really looking forward to the next stage of my journey. I am also pushing myself to get as close to 340 as I can by my surgery date. I have upped my exercise for this final push, as I figure I will be limited to just walking for a bit.
