It's that time you year...Time to talk some FOOTBALL!!!
Well the SF Giants are sinking in the west, so my sights go toward football at this time. Both the 49ers and Raiders don't look good at all...Neither have an elite (or good) quaterback. Seems like you really need an upper echelon quarterback to make a run nowadays.
Turning to college...Cal will be sub .500 this year again. They too don't have a quarterback. He can't throw the ball 45 yards in the air...and when he does throw, he floats it...Can't do that anymore in the BCS. With those 3 teams already out of it I'll jus****ch and enjoy who's on. How about you??

I keep pulling for the Raiders, a hard thing to do living in Western PA. I still dream of the glory days of Stabler and Plunkett. I am hoping the Steelers go 0-16 (yes I know thats not happening), I tell anyone who will listen that my 2 favorites teams are the Raiders and anyone playing the steelers. It hasn't been a good last few years. Oh well its a new year and everyone is 0-0
After the cluster f**k of last season for the Cowboys I'm hoping they can do better this year. Still have the same problem as last year - Jerry Jones.
Never have been an Aggies fan and still won't be if they do manage to go to the SEC. Know it is being done for the almighty dollar but hope they know what they are in for!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
49ers best running back Frank Gore wants a new contract. He is either 29 or 30...With a ton of injuries. 49ers are trying to save their money for future years. Gore may sit out and play the waiting game...Not good for team haramony. With both college and pros nowadays, if you have a weakness, it gets spotted and exploited quickly...
The Eagles just signed Vick to a 100 million dollar contract; it could be reduced to 80 mil if he doesn't fulfill minimum requirements ( not specified). Overall, they should take the NFC East. If they don't go all the way, the sportswriters want Andy Reid's head to roll. The outcome of any given season is partly based on when injuries occur. I've found it amazing to see how many players on both offense and defense want to be on the Eagles team just because Vick is there.
I'll always pull for Rutgers but it's usually a hopeless wish. I remember when I went there and they had successful seasons. Of course, they were a large public U ( State U of NJ) playing a lot of small colleges like a few Ivy league schools, Colgate, and Lehigh. So, I usually pull for Penn State, Notre Dame, and for some reason I like the large Florida schools. I know that doesn't make sense.
I don't really follow baseball, but the Phillies are playing ridiculous games. They lose a couple then win a bunch by monster scores. But, on any given day...

I just wanted to add that I was a Jets fan in the days of Joe Willie. We moved here in 1981 and I became an Eagles fan but still like the Jets. The Jets and Eagles play each other on Thurs in a meaningless game. The only meaning for the Eagles is practice for the offensive line.
My wife became a NY Giants fan at her father's knee at 5 years old. I go to family functions and I'm the only person who is not a Giants' fan. I have a friend, BigDooba whose recent wife Dawn K knows all about football. Her brother was a star hs player and played college ball at the Ohio State. He even played in the pros for Indianapolis until he was thrown out of the league and imprisoned for gambling. Dawn just looks at the beginning of a play and knows what they are going to do; I'm still baffled after 40 years of watching the NFL. By the way, BigDooba doesn't follow any sports.

I lived 2 hours north of Pittsburgh back in the Steel Curtain days, with Bradshaw, Swan and gang! Mean Joe Green actually came to my elementary school which was sweet.
So I am Steelers fan from way back, actually going to see them play tomorrow night against my new/adopted team, the Carolina Panthers!!
My car has the Steelers sticker and Panthers stickers on it! (Wife is just pure Panthers fan)
What is interesting, I went and spent the $$ on a custom Steelers Jersey with my name on it just before the Superbowl last year, and it was 4-5XL if I rememeber correctly. So this maybe the last time I wear it and it not be "too big!!?"
(Surgery date is 9/21)
But, I promised myself to replace it with a smaller one when I get down to size! (Well, currently defensive tackle size down to say.....kicker!?)
So, Panthers is my local team that I watch each week, and Steelers as I can catch them on TV!!
Cam Newton is still learning, but I think we may have a non-felonius Michael Vick on our hands!?
