147.8 lbs lost since starting the Tufts program.
161.9 lbs lost from my all time highest weight.Hope this morning finds everyone weathering the Hurricane as best you can. We are just starting to get the wind and rain here in South Eastern Massachusetts. Looks like the worst of it is heading further west of where I am but still looks like we are going to get quite a bit of rain and 70 mph wind gusts. Hold on to your hats for a fun ride today!!
Had a good week with eating but didn't get to the gym at all. I am hosting a horseshoe tournament next Sunday so spent the week working on sprucing up the horseshoe pits and doing a ton of yard work so although I didn't get any traditional exercise I was moving a lot in the yard which obviously helped since I lost another 3.4 lbs this week. Very happy with that number this week!
I went with my wife and friends to see Country Fest at Gillette Stadium last night. We had purchased our tickets within 5 minutes of them going on sale and they were awful seats up about as high in the stadium as you can go (well we had three rows behind us so I guess they weren't the worst seats, but just saying...). I had no problem walking up the endless ramps. I actually fit in the seat without an issue now. This time last year I went to a concert there and had to find the handicap elevator to get to our seats and had an awful time with my hips and those damn seats. What a great feeling to be able to get to any seat and fit!! Well worth the price of admission to this Weight Loss Trip!! This is the home of the New England Patriots so I am going to go to a ticket agency and get some good seats to a game. I love, love, love that I can go to sporting events again. Lookout Fenway and the Garden I'm coming for you soon!!
Well, I am going to cut this short today as the wind is whipping outside and I don't want to lose power before I save.
Hope everyone has a great week and if you are in the path of the hurricane, please hunker down and stay safe!

Well. Waiting for the giant tree to fall over and take my power out... Not much rain, but tons of wind from the storm...
Any who... Started to work out this week and OMFG. So sore. Can't move at all. May have overdone it a bit and am paying in spades. The stairs are not a fun trip in either direction. I guess that the pain is good in a sense. Hope everyone makes it through the hurricane in the affected areas..

Hope all are faring well in the storm. As a Gulf Coast resident, I can tell you these things can be a ***** Last major storm in Houston, I was without power for two weeks plus. The amazing thing was that my next door neighbor had power. They were fed power from a different main power source. So, while I was sweltering in 90 degree heat with no lights or refrigeration, they were living a normal life....
Anyway, tough week for me health wise as I had stomach issues all week. I had terrible stomach pain every time I ate. Not sure why, but it seems to have subsided as of yesterday. It kept me out of the gym all week, but I was able to continue what I now call the Stairway to Heaven program of using the steps at work to restrooms on the upper floors.
Hope all stay well through the storm.

Mike, Congrats on the stadium FARTS!
I'm with my fellow Texan, although I'm way North of Houston, storms can be a pain in the ass. You prepare for the worst and hope for the best. While I would not wish the damage and loss of life on anyone we sure could use the rain over here.
Heat or nor heat been trying to get more walking in over the past week. Went to my PCP and he pointed out I was up four pounds. That's okay. Asked him how he was doing on his battle of the bulge going the "old fashion way" and he is up 15 pounds!
Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
I love how you asked your PCP how he was doing with WL the old fashioned way and he had gained 15 pounds where you had only gained 4. There is a FART in itself!! Just emphasizes the fact that we made the best choice with WLS!!

Dropped 3 lbs this week and I wasn’t even trying. So far I’ve lost the combined equivalent of a 2-month old horse, a 3-gallon tub of premium ice cream, and an ostrich egg.
I’m within 2 lbs of losing the equivalent of a new born giraffe. Not sure I want to reach that goal. I think I’ve lost all I want to.
Best of luck to those dealing with storm issues. I know what it’s like to have the high winds, loss of power, and flooding issues. That’s one of the reasons I moved out West.
But I want to be a regular poster in this weekly thread, so here is what I have to report:
I managed to get down the required amount of protein shake and the full 64 ounces of water starting with my first full day home from the hospital. I walked 15 minutes the first day home, one hour (split up into more than one go) the second day, and 30 minutes the third day. Today is my 4th full day home and Irene won't let me walk outdoors, so I have to get one of my kids to reach down and find the cord of the coat-rack, ummm, I mean treadmill, and plug it in.
I have no clue if I lost any weight - my scale is dead - but I think the post-op bloating is gone and my clothes are just a tad loose.
Despite this week having been one of the most difficult of my life, I think I am doing everything I should be and I am proud of myself!
