Good morning to all! I hope this Sunday morning finds everyone doing well and losing! I have been on vacation all week in North Conway, NH and am still here. I don't have access to a scale so won't be able to post my results until later in the day but figured I still wanted to check in and kick this Sunday morning off early and share a few FARTs!

The week was wonderful and started with a trip to a beautiful State Park called Echo Lake / Cathedral Ledge. We swam all day and I took the kids for the one mile hike around the lake with ease. I felt like I could have done it a few times but the kids were pooped and wanted to get back in the water so we didn't.

We went to an amusement park called Story Land (geared towards the younger kids but fun) and I fit on every ride but one. The one that got me had a belt that I literally missed by 1/4 inch. I was a bit bummed after waiting in line for 20 mins but the rest of the family went on the ride and I slithered away to our cart. Just a reminder of where I've been and where I still need to go! As I was going through the park I noticed a poor guy around my age that must have been 500+ lbs in an easy go cart with his wife and his little girl and felt for him. I was literally that man less than one year ago and felt like going over and talking to him about what I've done and where I've gone on my journey so far but the family was ready to move on and I didn't... I am no longer the biggest guy in the park but I still felt very bad for him!

On another day we drove the Mt. Washington Auto Road to the summit of Mt. Washington and took a family photo at the summit. I'll try and post a pic later as it was really cool. There was a bit of rock climbing to get there which I did with ease and helped the family on the way up as well as some other folks passing by us on their way down. It felt great to do this stuff effortlessly. There were some races going around in the area. A 24 hour mountain bike race / rally and a triathlon that both seemed really fun and for the first time in my life I am entertaining the thought that, hey, I could actually do one of those if I wanted to. Looks like more goals for next year!

We drove around through a beautiful area called Crawford Notch to see if we could spot a moose but all we saw was a deer and a fox. Still was fun until we got a flat tire!! Go figure, but again I felt like I was on the Indy pit crew changing the tire and me and my buddy had the spare tire on in about 10 minutes. I have a big Expedition with a crappy little jack and for anyone who knows that is no small feat!! Still being able to bend and lay down and just move without that extra 160 lbs is amazing!!

As for eating this week, I did farely well and had my Myoplex at the ready for each trip so that I didn't succumb to too many goodies. I had an ice cream one night that for whatever reason didn't even taste that good so I only had a few bites and tossed it. Obviously didn't make it to the gym but did do a lot of swimming, hiking and moving in general so I think I did ok.

Time to go shower, pack up and make the 3+ hour car ride home. Hope the kids are so beat that they just pass out!! We'll see...

Anyway, hope everyone has a great week!

Gooooooooooooooooool. After a few weeks of playing around so close I could smell 200 lbs, I finally went under the 200 mark. I started this journey thinking I would be happy at 250 lb, but 225 would be my ultimate goal. I set my original goal at 200 thinking there was no way I'd ever get there. Now here I am. And it is great.

Spent yesterday with my whiter-than-white body at the beach for my grandson's birthday party. Had a great time doing something I would not have done (hell, could not have done) just a year or so ago. By the way the SPF 50 sub block works very well, but don't miss any spots or you'll know it...

Probably going to revise my goal downwards just to have something to keep me motivated. Meanwhile, I think I need to go to Vegas to hit the craps table...c'mon 7, Daddy needs a tummy tuck!

I am inching closer to having all of my pre-reqs complete. I have a second appointment with the LCSW to finish my psych eval this week and then I have 3 more pounds to lose by the 26th. At that point I will have completed everything necessary to submit for final insurance approval. I am excited that everything is falling into line. I have been eating between 1300-1700 calories and shooting for 100+ grams of protein
a day. I also have been working my way up to walking 10000 steps a day. I have been in the 8000-8500 range most of this past week. Which is a lot for someone who sits at a computer 9 hours a day on top of 2 hours of commuting. Watching the pounds come off and having more energy than I've had in a long time has been great motivation. Also as a computer nerd I have been blogging about my journey and have received lots of support from friends new and old which helps keep me on track.

Congratulations Ken.

Weight loss wise - a good week.  Down around 4 pounds.  I dropped quickly to around 293 by mid week and have stayed there.  Otherwise, a very rough week.  Got the results of my Holter monitor test, and my arythmia that surfaced at the surgery has not gone away completely.  Another 3 months of coumadin and some other, new cardiac med.  Then Wednesday evening I fell off a step stool while hanging a picture.  Stupidity was involved. Nothing broken, fortunately.  Percocet is a wonderful thing.

Looking to hit the 280's next week and more than 75 lbs lost.

Wish me luck.

looks like I am firmly on a 5 pound per week loss...  average calories per day for the week were 800 and protein intake was 43% of calories...  I think I may be too low on the calories, but not sure.   5 pounds is nothing to sneeze at and inches have been the biggest loser.  I have gone through my second belt in 10 weeks, which is a good thing.  Didn't get it on overnight, can't loose it overnight

This week has been a tough week for weight loss but at least it is still heading in the right direction. I've finally made it into the two hundreds, just barely but regardless I made it.
