Since I joined this site, I was looking forward to posting in this weekly thread!

I haven't had surgery yet, but I lost ten pounds in the last two weeks on my pre-op diet.

Pre-op diet is crucial for shrinking the liver and also showing how compliant of a patient you are going to be or how much you are willing to work.  Ten pounds is very good!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Thanks for the encouragement!

This pre-op diet is no fun. I would never be able to do it long-term! Actually about a dozen of the diets I have tried in the past are quite similar...

Even if you look at the pre surgery diet as childish in that it is meant to test your compliance, there is a good medical reason in shrinking the liver. So, consider it a pre admission price for the ride of your life. Continued good luck...andvwelcome.

I'm not at all discouraged as I tend to gain about 2-3 pounds after a big lose and them by the end of the week I am back doen and ready to lose. I have been working a bit on my exercise routine adding in a few lifts with my weights ( as always done together with treadmill while watching my Yankees). I have tried to incorporate some core work as the last 10-20 pounds seems to be belly fat. Any suggestions of online videos or pictures of easy core exercises would be great. I seem to have switched over to Think thin bars to supplement my protein as opposed to Myoplex lite shakes. They are quicker and easier to get down. Have a great week !!!

154.5 lbs lost from my all time highest weight.

It was a good weight loss week and an even better exercise week.  I exercised for 6 days this past week and added some more weight lifting and used the arc trainer a couple of times.  Feeling really good about the gym.  I am on vacation in NH this coming week so will be away from the gym but will try to keep moving with hiking and swimming and watch what I eat.  Should be ok!

Hope everyone has a great week!

348.2  8/1/2011 - Right before my first visit with Doctor (they show 352 & 355)

341.7  8/7/2011 - 1 week in on the Pre-pre surgery diet where you prove to the Nutrionist that you can follow basic instructions!

So down 6.5 pounds for week 1, did manage to get my "PRE" pictures done this weekend as well.

Got in 3 workouts last week, 40 minutes, 50 minutes (both at the gym, 30 min circuit + treadmill)  And then 30 minutes walking the dog on Saturday.

Calories ranged from 1150-1850 during the week (Sat & Sun were 18xx and 1576) and was under the fat and carb daily goals every day!  Was ranging from 120-180g of Protein per day.

I measured my body fat % when I was last at 330lbs and I was right at 50%, so lean weight would be approx 165lbs.  5'9" tall.  One of my goals is to maintain as much muscle as possible during all of this!!

3 weeks of the Pre-Pre diet, then hopefully will get a surgery date (late Sept) and there will be a 3 week pre-surgery diet as well.

SO, I am officially OFF to the races on my weight loss!!
