This week's stats:
506.5: All time high 9/9/9 (WW start) - BMI = 63.3
492.4: Tufts Medical Center Program Start 9/20/10
462.5: Lap RNY Surgery day 2/7/11
355.8: Last Week 7/17/11
356.8: This Week 7/24/11 - 1.0 Lbs Gain this week - BMI = 44.6

135.6 lbs lost since starting the Tufts program.
149.7 lbs lost from my all time highest weight.

Gained 1 pound this week. Dang. Didn't eat too bad and kept well within my diet. I only exercised one time this week though which really bugs me. Must make more time for me this week. I don't think I drank enough water this week either. Maybe I am finally in my dreaded stall just shy of six months? No need to get discouraged as I am still feeling thinner and my clothes are as loose as ever. Its a brand new week starting now...

Did have a great NSV this past week as I went to a local fair and was able to ride every amusement park ride there. What a feeling although I did overdo it in the kids funhouse with my girls. Went all the way to the second floor and realized the only way out was down a twisty slide... Oh well, sat on my laurels and went down because the queue of kids behind me wouldn't let me wait any longer... Long story short, made it down about 3/4 of the slide and my sneaker caught and tweaked my left knee... Caused me pain for about three days but its ok and back to normal now... Who knew that of all things the kids slide would get me at the fair!!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Overall, a good week for me although I did miss one of my three gym days. I find that I am wanting to find excuses to miss the gym although I have been pretty good about not missing. I am going back to the treadmill for cardio from the elliptical machine. The eliptical has been tough on me physically (kills my knees) and that may be some of the reason I have been somewhat reluctant to go to the gym. I never really delevoped any stamina on the elliptical and find for some reason that the time just drags on and on when I used it, unlike the treadmill.

I checked my BMI this week and found that I still fall within the overweight designation, although not by much. I would have to lose another 14 lbs to fall at the very top of the normal category. I believe I must have at least that much extra floppy skin on me. Does anyone know if an electric knife is a good alternative to plastic surgery? (just kidding, really)

This Tuesday isn3 weeks out and I am The Wolverine! This has been the most remarkable, exciting experience I have ever had. I am getting 100+ grams of protien a day 128oz + water a day and my pouch like everything it should. I feel 100% better and I still have a 5' 10" man to loose. I can not imagine how good I'll feel at my goal weight. I can't remember that far back . I can start light weights in a week and have been walking 20 minutes a day. My energy level is through the roof. I remember how much one of the bags of dog food I buy weighs (35 pounds) and realize that I have almost lost two of them and st II have 6 left to shed. This has been the first thing I have done for myself in 10 years and I am so reaping the rewards of my efforts... I will be a weekly Sunday feature here gentlemen.

Thank you my brother. In a former life I was an MP in the first Gulf War. That seems so far back in time but I can and will be that weight again. This ride is worth anything they charge for admission

Highest Weight: 310 lbs
Surgery Weight: 300 lbs (on 08 Oct 10)
Last Week’s Weight: 190 lbs ???
Current Weight: 188 lbs

Total Loss: 122 lbs (from highest weight)
Total Post-Surgery Loss: 112 lbs
Weekly Difference: -2 lbs ???

I’m now back at home after an extended business trip. Last week he scales at the hotel gym indicated my weight was 190 lbs (my personal goal). Today, on scales I trust, I’m at 188 lbs. So, the good news is that my weight remained close to my goal and didn’t fluctuate greatly while on the road.

One of my biggest fears has been that maintenance would be difficult or impossible when away from home. Looks like I can still stick to a healthy eating / workout program even under less than ideal situations.

High Weight = 310     Surgery Weight = 300   Dr's Goal = 200   My Goal = 190

I posted this on the main forum this morning:
Almost 6 months post op I am so excited to hit this tremendous milestone. I credit regimented diet and exercise. Every day begins with a greek yogurt with splenda and jelly or sf syrup. Lunch is Low Fat Cheese or FF Turkey slices with Trader Joes Multi Grain Savory Thins. Dinner is Chicken Breast or Ground Turkey with some cooked veggies. I usually suplement with a protien shake ot Think THin Protien bar. I have not had a bite of bread or pasta yet. Everything I consume is Low Fat and Sugar Free or close to it. I exercise 6 days a week on my treadmill with weights for between 40 minutes and an hour. I am also strict about my vitamins and drinking with meals. I know that if I was not as strict with the "rules" I would not have had as much success. I worked very hard to get this surgery and I am commited to the lifestyle change neccesary to make it work.

Have a great week!

I've been very busy with remodeling of my house (preparing for my middle daughters wedding and reception) so have not been on the site much lately. Weight is coming off slowly now but I'm down to 212 from a high of 301 day of surgery which was 9 months ago.
