That's ok bro!

Better safe than sorry. Your day will come. Listen to your body but don't be afraid to push a bit.

Good luck!

Jeff, I think you made a very wise choice. There will be other races but at least you know you were ready and prepared for this one. You couldn't have even considered this a few months ago when you first joined this site.

I have found that I can easily get dehydrated after WLS. I "think" I'm getting enough liquids but will quickly start having problem in higher temperatures. I'm sure things will get better the further away I get from surgery. But, during this first summer post-op, I'm trying to be careful and not take chances.

Again, you made a wise decision.

High Weight = 310     Surgery Weight = 300   Dr's Goal = 200   My Goal = 190

Regarding not runnings on Sat, you already know how I felt about it.  I was cautious in my advice because of the unusual heat and humidity.  Your area occasionally gets one or the other but not that terrible combination.  Back when I was in my late teens and early 20s, I used to bicycle and run a lot.  I loved any exercise that involved distances.  But, running in the heat of the day just doesn't make sense.  Wait until it cools off a little.
