I'm not a runner, so no advice. Just a sincere good luck wish.

Considering the hot temps and humidity you should be having on Sat, you may want to think about not doing this this weekend.  A short jog in the early morning or late in the evening sounds better.  I know runners and cyclists who are simply taking a break this week.  You may want to post a question about this on the fitness and exercise forum.  Are the regulars there adjusting their activites as they are hit with the deathly heat wave?

Good luck!!!

Go at your own pace, if you have been training you know what you can handle.  You are not competing with anyone, just yourself.

Bet you never thought you would be doing this, WLS is a life changer.

OOOH OHHH I KNOW I KNOW!

1) Hydration is Key!  Up your fluids to 100-140oz starting about thursday.
2) Eat normally the day before and a small light breakfast about an hour before.
3) Hydrate going into the race.
4) Listen to your body run when you feel you can and walk when you have to
5) Carry a water bottle with you don't rely on the water stations.
6) Eat when you finish a small piece of banana or something
8) Smile big when you cross the finish line so you wife gets a good picture to post on here.
9) HAVE FUN!
10) Write a race report to let us know how it went.
11) Find you next one!

Challange yourself...but enjoy yourself.  Dehydration is the key.  Have a small amount of OJ, banana, or spinach before the race (potassium).  Pee before you get there...The portopotties may have long lines.  Know the signs of dehydration for yourself and others around you.  Enjoy the ride...Brian  PS  We want to see new pictures of you at goal and of the race!!
