Calorie question
Sorry for chimming in so late but I have been out and about enjoying life!
Not to beat a dead horse but like the others have said you have a very long time until you really need to worry about maint and your daily calories.
Spend these next months building your healthy habits and working towards your goals. A big to sucess and maintanence is going to be exercise, this should include both cardio and weights which in the long run will allow you to eat like a more normal person.
Gaining lean muscle mass will increase your RMR, which is the number of calories your body requires to function if you burn calories working out then you require even more calories. At 1 year out my RMR is right under 2100 and I average 1100 calories at the gym so I could eat 3200 calories a day and maintain my weight.
More Lean muscle mass equals higher RMR which means more calories. So there really is no way of knowing how many calories you will require to maintain in 12-18 months.
Don't focus on calories or the scale at this point as hard as it may be. Focus on building a healthy lifestyle. If you get the lifestyle in place the rest will fall in line.
Good Luck and enjoy the ride!
