Sunday Morning Weigh In - Happy 4th of July

This morning's weigh in was the good surprise I was hoping for. While I gained .2 (2/10) lb from the day I left, the amount is so small that I'll ignore it. I did allow myself much more alcohol than I have been. In fact I drank a decent amount of wine 3 days in a row and had a few sample of things I wouldn't usually eat, although I did watch quantities and had healthy meals generally. I am now at 209.4 lbs just 2.4 lbs from "dropping a deuce"

Ken, that's really cool about the reunion.  I bet it was fun being one of the "small" ones!  Glad you continue to do well, and I look forward to hearing the celebration when you drop the deuce...

The odd thing is that looking at the pictures, I am finally seeing myself as thinner. In fact, too thin in some places, but still way too big in some areas - the moobs and the midsection specifically. While I don't hide it necessarily, I don't volunteer that I had surgery. However, one old friend who I had not seen in 30 years mentioned that I looked drawn and asked if I had been sick. I did tell her about the surgery rather than mislead her about my health. After all, I am healthier than I have been in years. I am hoping my body sort of normalizes at some point.

Left last Sunday on a business and still on the road for another 2 weeks. No access to scales that I trust. But, the pants seem even more loose than before I left. Not sure I'm dropping pounds but inches still seem to be decreasing. Thank goodness for the hotel gym.

Another busy week of work left very little time for anything else.  Damn MN govt shutdown is going to turn summer into a big piece of crap with work once they settle.  Did get out to the lake and caught a meal and played bags all night. Wow isn't the new energy great!  Only a 2 day work week and then off to the lake for summer vacation:)  It's cool to be moving in on the double century club.

Keep up the great work everyone and have a great week!!!!

No weight loss this week, but when I went to get some pants to replace some I tore, I found I am now wearing a size smaller (size 38!).  Got a shirt go with the pants, and it's a 2X!  Just a couple of weeks ago (and without losing any weight in between) I was wearing 3X and 40's.  Go figure!  I'm visibly smaller, but no weight loss at all.  This WLS thing can really mess with your head, if you let it!

Got to fly again (twice) this week.  The second flight we worked on takeoffs and landings to polish them up and really get them "grooved".  Had a couple of landings where you really couldn't tell when we actually touched down, except for the "chirp" of the tires.  And that was with a pretty strong cross-wind that complicates everything.  (25 kts, 45 degrees right of the runway)  It's all starting to come back to me, and it feels really good!  I'm having so much fun!!!

Thank God for the WLS that gave me my life back!

Woo Hoo, Can't you smell that smell?  Great FARTs Jim!  Awesome to hear you getting those things back that were so important to you.  I am slowly reclaiming my life as well and the feeling is incredible.  Off to the gym again this am for the second time while on vacation.  Lovin' the whole journey...
