Getting ready for surgery
Hey all,
I finally have a surgery date, 7/18. I am kind of happy that it is a couple of months away as I really need some time to try and get exercise in before hand. I had to do the whole 6 month supervised diet and exercise program, unfortunately a month or so in I reinjured a knee and wasn't able to exercise much. I ended up having the choice between arthroscopic knee surgery and orthovisc injections. I went with the injections and wow have they helped.
So I am looking for suggestions on what type of exercise would be best to get ready for surgery. Running really isn't an option. My thoughts have been to bike or walk a 3-4 days a week, do yoga a couple of times a week, and maybe do weights a couple of times a week. Yes, I really like yoga,it is a great stress reliever and way to get stretched out.
Does anyone have any other suggestions on what to do to get ready for the surgery?
Thanks,
Chris

You may want to cross post on the exercise and fitness forum. That way, you may get the answer you need sooner. We've had several men who've gone onto various exercise programs who rarely post on the Men's Forum. That's fine but you have to be resourceful in looking for responses. I sometimes forget that posted times here are West coast times. That is, you haven't really been waiting long for a reply.
You can't go wrong walking or swimming. If you can get a gym membership, the eliptical is good and weight training adds muscle which burns calories while you rest.
