Man vs. Booth and...
MAN WINS THIS TIME!!
My wife and and I had to go to a wake last night and after decided to get a bite to eat at a nice restaurant called the Chateau which was nearby. When the person asked us if we'd like a booth or table I said sure we'll try a booth. I know, living on the edge!!Well, we went to the booth and I FIT!! I swear there were angels singing and harps playing!! What a feeling to be able to get into a booth and not have the table squishing into my belly during the entire meal. It makes this journey well worth it.
BTW, I had some grilled turkey tips, roasted veggies and a plain baked potato and took half of everything home. Yummy!
Just had to share after my bad picture day the other day. I'm good now!!

Way to go!! Every time I go out my immediate response is to ask for a table. I still can't get my mind wrapped about the fact I can fit in a booth.
And to reinforce what Ken said, wait until your first airplane right. I had mine last month and couldn't believe was it was like to fit in the seat and NOT have to use an extension.
It is crazy how long it takes to have your mind catch up to your body. You should definitely go for a booth now. They are much more comfortable and intimate!!
As for the airplane seat that will be a big victory (along with amusement park rides) as I have been literally dying to take my now 6 & 8 year olds to Disney. We are now in the process of planning the trip for late in the year or early next. That will be a F.A.R.T. like no other!!

Yet another example of how great it is so share experiences like this with those that have been there. I know the first time I asked for a booth, which was just last week, I atually felt nervous as we approached the booth and then to fit comfottably.....what a great feeling! Congratulations on a great non scale victory.
I felt exactly the same as you and have past experience, and embarassment, of getting to the booth and either trying to squish in or just looking at it (when the table is fixed to the floor and won't slide) and just asking for a table immediately. Not any more though! It was a great feeling and reminded me of why we are on this great journey!
I was never that big...300 pounds at my highest...really didn't have to deal with the booth thing much. My phobia...mania was breaking chairs in public. I'm sure most of you have broken your fair share during the years. I was so fearful, I wouldn't put my whole weight on the chair...It was really uncomfortable in a dining room. If I break one now (at about 213 pounds) I figure it was the construction of the chair...Not me...
Talk about breaking chairs (and yes, I admit I have crushed my fair share ), my wife, kids and I were in a mill store looking for adirdondack chairs. Well, they looked nice from the street and were nice and wide. What I failed to notice, before I tried it out, was that it was made with STAPLES construction. Yes, I said STAPLES!! There were no bolts and the sides were literally stapled to the main portion of the adirondack.
Well, to no surprise at approx. 500 lbs once I sat on that stapled chair and it immediately crumpled to the floor and turned into a pile of kindling. I was mortified and got up grabbed the kids and immediately left after notifying the store manager that his chair was broken.
From that point out on I examine the intimate details of the chair construction before I even attempt to sit on it... Oh well, those days will soon be behind me and maybe someday I'll try to sit on a chair with staple construction again! But, then again...
