11 Weeks Post Surgery Update - Happy Easter to All - No Candy For Me (or you!!)

506.5: All time high 9/9/9
492.4: Tufts Program Start 9/20/10
457.0: Surgery day 2/7/11
401.0: Last Week 4/17/11
399.6: This Week 4/24/11 - 1.4 lbs lost this week

92.8 lbs lost since starting the Tufts program.
106.9 lbs lost from my all time highest weight.

I have finally left the 400's behind for good and am now in the 300's.  Woo Hoo!  Although it was a smaller than average weight loss this week, I'll take it.  I didn't get to the gym once this week and with the weather so crummy I didn't get to walk either.  Had a big project at work, the girls were on vacation, etc...  I know excuses, excuses but I honestly didn't get the time for me that I need last week.   I will make some more time for myself and at least try to get to the gym a few times as I know that makes a difference in my weight loss.  I have softball games to coach on Tue, Wed, Thurs, Sat of next week so I need to be sure to get to the gym on Monday and Friday at the very least.  I must stay focused.

I had my 3 month followup with my nutritionist and psychologist this past week and have transitioned into eating real food.  Stage 5 of Tufts and I am supposed to try and get 60-80 grams of protein and 3 servings of fruit/vegetables per day.  The meetings went well and I am right where I should be according to both of them.  Also went to the Tufts HOWL group this week and they discussed body image which I now realize is a tough thing for folks losing the amount of weight that I am/will.  There were people there who had lost a tremendous amount of weight but still did not feel thin even though they were.  Kind of the situation where your mind doesn't keep up with the changes with your body.  The meeting ended up talking about folks with excess skin after weight loss and a few standing up and showing their excess skin (under their clothes of course) but they started to lose me at that point.  That is an issue that I will deal with when I get to it.  Right now I just need to get the excess fat off and get myself healthy.

My left leg (sciatica) has still been bothering me off and on during the past week.  I know I will need to go and and get PT or something for it but I was hoping that by this point it would have been feeling better.   It is kind of a damper on this whole process as it happened during surgery (I was on the table for 3 hours) and hasn't been right since.  It was feeling fine going into surgery.  The time on the table just activated the old injury.  Oh well must keep it moving.  Thank goodness for the elliptical rider as that keeps the stress off of it and gives me a good aerobic exercise.

Anyway, today is Easter and I have no desire at all to eat chocolate which is a good thing.  We are travelling to see family today and dinner should be ham, potatoes, green vegetable and should be fine for me.  I'll just make sure that I don't pick in between and maybe try and go for a walk after dinner.

Hope you all have a great week.

Funny, I heard that you guys were getting snow up there in NH yesterday.  Too funny that it was opening day for baseball and trout fishing.  Doesn't old man winter realize its time to move on...  We missed opening softball day yesterday here in MA due to the rain as well.  Its pretty nice today though so we'll take it.  Great FART on being into your 2X clothes.  What a feeling.  I am exactly 3 months behind your surgery and am looking forward to getting where you are.  Keep up the great work and have a great day!

Working to increase my protein intake trying different bars with higher protein content. I guess my taste has changed again since they now seem ok to me when I was not able to take the flavor before.

93 pounds post op(almost 14 weeks) at least 143 since the life style make over started. It's funny how the 2 weeks I've only made it to the gym 3 times my weight loss has been greatest.

Can't wait for all that good Easter treats:) lmao.

Finally a sunny day here on the tundra maybe the first round of golf finally.  2/3 family gatherings sometimes the looks are funny at how little you have on your plate compared to others.  It's like wow where do they put it all?

3 month follow ups last week.  What a waste of time nut took all my intake and exercise info and said keep up all the good work.  Didn't have any questions for the doc so it lasted about 5 minutes.

Can't wait for a much more active summer.

Have a great week everyone!!!

Congratulations on Hitting the MAT!  Goodbye to the 400's.  I think there are three of us on the Men's Board who said goodby to the 400's and are now in the 300's this week.  Great stuff and have a Great Easter and week!

Still dropping slowly after reaching my doctor’s goal weight. I’m happy with the progress and continued loss. My personal goal is to get to 190 lbs.
