A glass of wine
This afternoon, I went to an event held by a local winery -- I know, wine in Texas?? But I decided to try a glass, my first since well before my surgery last May. Well, guys, what you've read is correct. It hits pretty fast. But, the buzz left just as quick as it came. I had a designated driver ready to go, so I felt pretty secure in drinking provided I didn't just throw it up. And surprisingly, it sat pretty well on my pouch.
I like these "feeling normal" days. I was able to sample the wine, not to mention simply being able to be on my feet all afternoon in the Texas sun, walking several blocks from the parking lot, and generally enjoying it like a normal person! A year ago I would not have even attempted to be on my feet for so long, much less the walk to the parking. It doesn't sound like much unless you have ever been unable to do it. I made my partner promise to kick my ass if I ever start to gain again. LOL
