What's good guys?  I'm new to the "Men Board".  I just got sleeved 3-28-11.  Surgery day I was 443 and today I'm 390 so I think I'm making pretty good progress.  Right now I'm looking for some good tasting protein shake suggestions.   Thanks!

Good luck...It is so hard to find a good protein shake.  What I tell people to do is go to your local support group meetings (or people you know who have had weightloss surgery)...Ask if they can bring you a sample...Try different ones and see which one you like.  If not, you'll spend a ton on a large container (big $$) for something you can't stomach.  With each product you should try small amounts with water and with milk.  Each person's taste is different...What was OK pre op can taste gross post op.  Sorry...But no easy answer on this one.

Yo BiG wassup! Unjry is my shake of choice it's about 18 bucks per can. I do the vanilla, don't care for the chocolate, also they have a strawberry surbet, I do that one but I mix it with a sugerfree kool-aide packet for a better taste.

Look in the Diet and Nutrition Forum at protein powders or drinks.  They list peer reviews of various products with several characteristics to consider along with personal comments.  There are hundreds of reviews and comments on all types of foods at that Forum.  It's not set up like a regular exchange of info.  It's a good and uniques reference right here in OH.  By the way, you may want to look at the Recipes Forum for additional ideas;  unfortunately, that is set up like a regular forum.  It would be nicer if it were indexed.

I use Pro Performance 100% Whey from GNC and Love it!

The nice thing is that they come in smaller bags that you can get for around $20 before making a big investment.  If you get the gold card they have 20% off the first week of every month and then have Buy one Get one 50% off at times.   If you shop at a local GNC and get to know them they will give you discounts just for being a steady customer.

I like Premier Protein (you can get at Costco). I also like Smoothie King.
Also check out your local GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, etc stores. They have a wide selection and will take back open containers if you don't like it.

I found the Gold Standard 100% whey pretty tasty form Vitamin Shoppe.

Also don't be afraid to make the shakes your own. You can add a ton of stuff to them like sugar free syrups, fruits. I like adding Sugar Free Jello Instant pudding. Gives it an extra flare as well as makes it a bit thicker.

That's a fantastic idea!!! I'm going to pick up a couple packages tonight and start expermenting. I've tried adding tofo which also gives it an little extra thickness but doesn't add to the flavor.
