I seem to be seeing glimpses of a ghost
I don't believe in ghosts, but we had to put down our cat last Mon. We had her examined 2 weeks prior tp that and she weighed 6 pounds when we went back to the vet, she had lost another 2.5 lbs. She was obviously in pain and was wasting away.
However, now that she's gone, both my wife and I swear we still see her sneeking around and showing up in the old familiar places. For example, when I'd finish dinner and go to leave the kitchen, she'd be sitting right where I had to walk. I have difficulty walking and keeping my balance and she annoyed me. But, now she's gone and I swear that she's still pulling the same antics.
When I'm at my computer, I often glance into my bedroom and swear that she's sitting on the bed. I have poor periferal vision and it takes a while and a turn of the head to realize that I just see some of my wife's whimsical dolls.
I guess these visisons will fade in time. She was 6 when we got her and we had her for 8 years. She was asthmatic but didn't have too many episodes. She was a good cat except for the past few months when something started to bother her. My wife misses her a lot. Se talked to the cat when she got up in the morning and when she got home from work. I'd be at the other end of the house and think she was on the phone. Now I know it since there is no cat. And, my wife doesn't want another pet. That's fine with me this time. I think this was our 3rd long time pet. I don't count the occasional goldfish..
